因為昨天晚上，小兒感冒，嘔吐在枕頭上，所以想乾脆換個枕頭心，就跑了一趟好市多。

好市多酒區看起來很久沒有推陳出新，近期唯一一次的推陳出新活動，就是「五大風波事件」，雖然根本沒機會參與，倒也在湯大的網站聽聞不少消息。今天，唯一讓我比較亮眼就是Kirkland Napa Valley Meritage 2005，回家Google了一番後，雖然沒有正式評分，但發現國外酒友的的評價不錯，但是價格方面，台灣就不夠優，大約和一支棒球隊一樣貴（ㄟ，棒球隊？好像一隻職棒隊的冠名權一年要六千萬），美國大約11-12美元，美國好市多網站還有兩隻合購價（連好市多都搞合購，哈～），另外，好像是使用合成木塞，不過對於了無新意的好市多酒區而言，我還買了兩隻Kirkland Napa Valley Meritage 2005，紀念一下這個「後美國時代」來臨的開端。


這隻酒是由DC Flynt MW Selections所代工（我猜想這應該是與好市多有關的中間公司，代為處理與實際代工酒廠製酒的作業），因為這個集團大部分的產品都是Kirkland Signature。

先來看看酒本身的資訊，比較有趣的是「有加入一點 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon，以增加亮度與果香」：

100% Napa Valley Meritage, 69%Merlot, 29%Cabernet Sauvignon, 2%Cabernet Franc

Napa Valley is the pre-eminent 'New World' wine grape producingregion.  Napa is the birthplace of the wine revolution for goodreason.  The long consistent growing seasons with ample sunshine, andjust the right amount of rain, daytime heat, and cool eveningsregularly produce grapes among the finest vitis vinifera in the world. 2005 was no exception to this theme.  The growing season was long andcool producing a large crop of excellent fruit.  The grapes maturedover a longer period of time and when they reached physiologicalripeness the sugar levels were at perfect balance, the skins of Merlot,Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc all had time to thicken and addcolor, grip and elegance without uduly high alcohol levels.

After harvest and warm fermentation the wine was aged in a combinationof French and American oak barrels for 14 months and then a carefulblending regime was followed selecting the finest lots of Merlot,Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc to create a harmonious wine. Just before bottling a small percentage of 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon wasadded to bring brightness and immediate fruit forward appeal to theblend.  Four months of bottle age allowed the wine to completely'marry' and soften tannins.

69% Merlot 29% Cabernet Sauvignon 2% Cabernet Franc 2005 Kirkland Signature Napa Valley Meritage is a traditional blenddominatedby Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The deep-purple pigmentsand aromas ofspice box and cedar lead to an initial attack of sweetblack cherrykirsch from the Merlot, gracefully surrounded byvoluptuous CabernetSauvignon notes of pure black fruit, which dominateand conceal the ripetannins building to an elegant and polishedfinish. Drink now through2012.
