Scott English 和 Larry Weiss 這兩位寫歌者，雖然都各有寫出過冠軍歌曲的記錄 ( 分別為《Mandy》及《Rhinestone Cowboy》)，而倆人合體卻也未必功力加成，他們合寫的這首《Bend Me, Shape Me》，所拿到的最佳成績是1967年美國排行榜的第5名。

這首歌最先是由The Outsiders樂隊於1966發行，而最著名的版本則是1967由The American Breed樂隊所錄製的，該樂隊成立不到四年就解散了，這首歌也成為他們最出名的招牌歌。有時想想，有些歌手或是樂團拼了老命，才好不容易有個前幾名的歌曲。但也有些隨便就是十來首的冠軍曲及數座葛萊美獎的，對這些超級歌星，樂團，真是不由得不肅然起敬。

這首歌說的是男人只要女友喜歡她，隨便怎麼弄他強迫他都行。不過，我覺得女生不要想得太天真了，在尚未得手前，許多男人做牛做馬當凱子都不會有怨言，而一旦付出後又遭惡意情變，男人恐怕會抓狂而做出不可預測之事。不可不慎也！也有位老外歌友認為這首歌或許是在影射玩弄男性的身體器官，我看這位老兄真的是想太多了！
