Gustar

El verbo gustar no funciona como el verbo normal.

Gustar verbs conjuate to the "object".

Me gusta bailar. = I like to dance./ To me, dancing is pleasing.
Te gusta bailar.= You like to dance. /To you, dancing is pleasing.
Les gusta bailar.= They like to dance./ To them, dancing is pleasing.

In our mind, the subject seems like I, You and They, but it's really dancing. So "gustar" is conjugated to the 3rd person singular each time, no matter what person is involved. What does change depending on the person is the indirect object pronoun.

A mí me gusta la flor amarilla.

A ti te gusta la camisa azul.

A ella le gusta el bolso violeto.

A nosotros nos gusta el conejo beis.
conejo   nm.   rabbit
beige, (Esp) beis,  adj. beige

A vosotros os gusta el cerdito rosa.
cerdo  nm. a. (animal) pig, hog   b. (carne) pork

* Rosa is one of the very few adjectives ended in "a" as natural state or singular masculine form. => rosa can be used in singular feminine and singular masculine form.

Another adjective ends in "a" as natural form is "cada", which means "every".

      cada mujer, cada hombre

Another color adjective does not change its ending is

marrón (= brown),
el conejo marrón
la araña marrón    araña  nf  spider

A ellos les gusta el conejo marrón.

A mí, a ti, a ella .... parts are just for clarification, it′s not necessary, unless you emphasize the object.

you can have "A mí me gusta."
or just have  "Me gusta."

The verbs like GUSTAR,the verb seems like to conjugate to the object in our minds when it isactually the subject. It may help to read the sentence literally untilyou get the hang of the verb types.

Me interesa la computadora portátil gris.
The grey laptop is interesting to me.

Te repugnan los espárragos verdes.
The esparaguses are disgusting to you.
repugnar  vi.
1 (físicamente) to disgust, revolt, fill with loathing
2 (moralmente) to find repugnant o abhorrent

Le encantan las rosas rojas.
The red roses is pleasing to her.

Exercises

A mí me fascinan (fascinar) las mariposa naranjas y negras.
Orange black butterflies facinate me.

A ellos les encantan (encantar) las flores moradas.
Purple flowers delight them.

A nosotros nos molesta (molestar) la araña marrón.
The brown spider annoys us.

A ella le gustan los tulipanes blancos.
White tulips are pleasing to her.

Color

In Spanish, to make the color lighter, like light blue or light green, you can use the adjective claro.

azul claro (light blue)
verde claro (light green)

To make the color darker, to use the adjective oscuro.

azul oscuro
berde oscuro

It works pretty much all the colors, even some have the dedicated word like pink vs. red.

pink / light red = rosa / rojo claro
lavender/ light purpole = violet / morado claro
