Wild berry, cherry and floral aromas to this Brunello. Full-bodied, with big, silky tannins and loads of exciting fruit. Lively, yet refined. These wines are a joy to taste. Giuseppe Bianchini is a master in the vineyards. Best after 2004. 3,900 cases made. (JS) Highly Recommended 2003/5/31

Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino Altero 1998

Pretty aromas of grapes, minerals, blackberries and cherries. Full-bodied, with a fantastic core of raspberry fruit and solid, silky tannins. Give it time to still come together. Poggio Antico is really excellent in 1998. Not sure if I like this better or the other bottling. Best after 2005. 875 cases made. (JS) 2003/5/31

簡介：
Brunello di Montalcino位於Tuscana，是一個成立於1982年的DOCG。依產區規定， BdM必須完全使用Brunello（也就是Sangiovese）釀製，在橡木桶中至少培養兩年，而且在採收後的第五年元月才能上市。優質的Sangiovese通常可以展現出豐厚的單寧、充滿土地系風味的草藥、香草與苦櫻桃味。1998年雖不如前後的1997與1999那樣卓越，但卻也是一個生產美味佳釀的優秀年份，現在正值品飲的顛峰期！
