又到了每周遊記時間 :)
it's traveling blog time again!
上禮拜跟大家說我要去開發新景點
I told you that I would go to some new places last week
所以今天就來跟大家分享我們的新發現吧!
so there it is, I am going to share my new discovered spot with u.
我在美國住的地方位於無聊的內布拉斯加州
where I stay in USA is in the middle of nowhere, which is Nebraska
但剛好位在邊邊角角的位置
but I stay in the corner of it
離懷俄明州首都夏延只有一小時車程
only an hour away from the captial of Wyoming, Cheyenne
距離科羅拉多州也不到一小時遠
and it's less than an hour away from Colorado.
去年夏天我跟傑森最常去的地方是丹佛
last summer, me and Jason went to Denver very iften
那是離我們最近的國際大都市
that's the biggest international city we are close to
(下次再介紹丹佛)
(will introduce Denver sometimes)
上周末去的地方和丹佛一樣位在科羅拉多州
we went to somewhere in Colorado last weekend
但是從丹佛出發還要將近五小時
but it's like 5 hours away from Denver
也就是說我們開了七個半小時的車就為了一睹
that is, we drove 7.5 hours to get to
"甘尼遜黑峽谷國家公園"的風采
Black Canyon of the Gunnison Nationa Park
開過丹佛之後會發現科羅拉多州真的很漂亮
after u pass Denver, you will know that Colorado is a pretty place
多半是因為落磯山脈的關係吧
mostly I think it's because of the Rocky mountain
所以有很多冬季滑雪勝地
there are so many ski resorts around
周遭的豪宅令人嘆為觀止
sooo many mansions over there....they are amazing
(在此附上其中一個網站給大家一瞥所謂的"豪宅")
我們途中經過最美的地方叫做"維爾"
I think the prettiest place we past called Vail
(既然是翻譯，就別計較到底要用哪個中文字才對)
還有無數小滑雪度假村
and so many smaller ski resorts along our way
突然很想在冬天造訪
it makes me want to visit in winter
加上雪景應該美翻
must be more beautiful with snow coverd the mountains
光是夏天這樣的景色就有點像在歐洲了呢
it reminds me of Europe even it's in summer (tho I never been to Europe)
(也有點像懷俄明州傑克遜，那裡在冬天也是滑雪勝地，富豪聚集)
also reminds me of the ski resort in Jackson Hole, WY
另外，據說科羅拉多州是以礦脈致富
Jason said Colorado is estabilished because of mining
所以沿途可以看到很多老礦廠
that's why you will see lots of old mining factories
也有很多城市以礦物為名
and many cities were named after mines, too.
例如: Golden city, Copper city...etc.
甘尼遜黑峽谷國家公園分成南緣和北緣
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park seperated into North rim and South rim
沒有共同入口，中間也沒有橋梁
there is no bridge between two rims
所以要去之前先決定比較想到哪邊
so you have to decide which rim you want to go before you hit the road
才方便訂飯店喔
just so you can make a reservation of the hotel
因為南北入口距離大概有兩個半小時吧
because it's about 2.5 hours away to each entrance
(公園處的人說的)
(that's what the park ranger said)
但是官方網站上顯示要三到四個小時
but the website shows that drive around from North to South rim would take
3~4 hours
這個國家公園其實不算大
this park is not really big
(可能是因為我只有去南緣啦)
(it might because we only stay in the South rim)
停停走走大概只花兩三小時
it only took us about 3 hours
因為我們到的時候已經是下午了
we got there in late afternoon
剛下過雨
and just stopped raining
是野生動物最愛出現的時間
a favorite time for wildlife
所以我們兩個俗辣不敢在荒郊野外的小徑逗留太久
so we didn't want to wander outside too long lol
進入這個公園的費用是一車15美金
the fee for this park is 15 USD per vehicle
但是我不知道這個公園有沒有好好善用這些收入
but I am not sure if the park makes a good use of the income
因為這可是個很深的峽谷
because it's a very deep canyon
但有些路段旁邊完全沒有護欄耶!!!!
but they don't have fence in most of the place!!!!!!!!!!!!
好可怕
that was scary
容易有落石的地段也不像黃石公園有些地方有護網固定
and some area with falling rocks has no web like in Yellowstone to keep visitors safe
這次選擇南緣
we decided to go to South rim
主要是因為下榻的地方靠近那裡
because we stayed not too far from there
而且公園南面的開發較多
and there are more facilities in the South
這個國家公園相對於黃石公園來說年輕許多
this national park is way younger than Yellowstone
甘尼遜黑峽谷國家公園一直到1999年才正式升格為國家公園
it didn't become a national park till 1999.
峽谷的形成原因
the cause of the canyon
是由於數百萬年前的火山爆發把整個地形抬升
was because million years ago, volcano erupted and raised the platform
然後湍急的甘尼遜河經年累月切割出這個壯觀的峽谷
and the fast-running Gunnison river cut the river day by day
雖然這個峽谷並不像亞利桑那州的大峽谷一樣那麼廣
this canyon is not wide as Grand Canyon in Arizona
但是因為地質不同的關係
however, because of the different type of the geology
這個峽谷的切割比大峽谷的切割更不容易
it's is harder to cut this canyon than to cut Grand canyon
叫黑峽谷的原因
and how it got its name
是由於峽谷地質的火山岩的色澤近黑色
is because of the volcano rock is close to black of course lol
在1882年左右
around 1882,
有一群人想要讓鐵路通過黑峽谷
a railroad company wanted to make a path through black canyon
最後因為底部太過狹窄最後放棄
but they gave up because of the bottom is too narrow
但是他們留下了一小截鐵道還有火車鐵軌和車廂
but they left a part of the railroad and carts and also locomotive
可惜因為年久失修
but they moved the locomotive
他們把火車頭移開了
because they need to repair it
(而且停放在閒人勿入的地方QQ)
(and they put the locomotive to somewhere we can't pass)
只能拍拍鐵軌和其他車廂
so we could only take pic of the railroad and some carts

在進入公園之後先走右邊的岔路
here is the hint, when you enter the gate, take the right way first
會引你到河邊以及水壩
it will lead you to the river and the dam
(但是水壩一樣是閒人勿入)
(can't go into the dam tho)
從河谷底部往上看
and look up from the river
真的感覺我們好渺小
you would feel that we are so tiny
但是
but
好景色總是在後頭
nice view is still waiting
其一是在遊客中心外的一個小平台
one of them is the stairway outside of the visitor center
傑森往下看的時候整個頭暈XD
Jason felt dizzy when he looked down lol
往下可以看到河流
you would see the river
也可以聽到河水流動的聲音
and hear the river, too
(這個平台還會提醒你不要往下丟石頭
因為下面可能有些登山客)
(and they remind you that do not try to throw rocks,
there might be hikers below)
南緣總共有13大點
there are 13 points of interest in South rim
我們停留了五個
we actually stopped or walked down for 5 of them
因為大多是要"健行"的
since most of it need a while to "hike"
可是天色已晚我們不想變成山獅的玩具
but it was getting dark and we do not feel like being mountain lion's toys
所以只短短走了兩三個點
so we only took the short one to walk
開完整個路線很短
it doesn't take too long to drive through the rim
所以建議大家一定要挑幾個點下去走走喔
so please make sure you at least walk 2 or 3 paths
其中有個點叫做sunset view
one of the spot called "sunset view"
但我們去的那天是大陰天
but it was cloudy when we were there
完全看不到= =所以也沒有停下來等
so we didn't even try to stop and wait for sunset
除了遊客中心之外
other than visitor center
還推薦大家在chasm point
I suggest you stop at Chasm point
還有dragon point下車走走
and Dragon point
(from there you can see the "painted wall")
這兩個步道很短
these two trails are pretty short
比較不用擔心山獅(誤)
less worry about mountain lion (jk)
公園每天也有園方講解時段
there are couple ranger's time as well
進公園時不妨問問看時段和地點
ask the person at the entrance about the ranger's time and location
相信可以學到不少東西
I am sure you can learn something from the park ranger
這個公園有很多松鼠跟花栗鼠喜歡闖馬路
there are lots of squirrels and chipmunks like to cross the road in the park
各位開車時請不要開太快
so please don't drive too fast in here
注意一下路上有沒有這些小傢伙喔~
and be cautious.
make sure there little guys are not on the road
這個公園雖然沒有黃石公園大
this park is not as big as Yellowstone
但絕對是值回票價的一個好去處
but it is a worth visit place
景色也很壯觀!!
the view is spectacular
雖然這公園聽起來很冷門
I know this park sounds pretty....not popular
(跟優勝美地，黃石，大峽谷等等相比的確是冷門許多)
(if u compare it with Yosemite, Yellowstone, or Grand Canyon...)
大概也因為如此
but because of that,
所以遊客不會那麼多
there are not so many tourists in this park
環境也清幽許多~~
so it is more quite as well
如果各位在科羅拉多州或者猶他，新墨西哥州
if you are in Colorado, or Utah and New Mexico
可以找個周末開車去看看 :)
maybe plan your visit to there sometime in the weekend !!!
