親愛的大家，一星期過真快
Dear All, one week passed already
上星期寫了陰雨綿綿的大城市西雅圖
after rainy Seattle,
今天來個陽光普照的聖地牙哥吧~
I'm going to give u sunny San Diego today
聖地牙哥一樣是在美國西岸
San Diego is also located in the West coast of USA
是加州最南端的大城
and it's the southern big city of California
已經靠墨西哥邊界了喔!
it's not too far from Mexico border~
聖地牙哥市有許多軍事基地
there are many military bases in San Diego
以海軍，海陸戰隊和海岸防衛隊(讓我想到電影海岸最前線)為主
most are navy, marine, and coast guard
根據維基百科的資料
according to wikipedia
目前於聖地牙哥港有兩艘航空母艦和核潛艇以及其他軍艦
there are 2 aircraft carriers and nuclear submarine at San Diego port
之前下榻的地方離美國國鐵聖地牙哥聖塔菲站大約只有五分鐘腳程
the hotel I stayed was only 5 mins walk from Amtrak Santa Fe station
附近有個小小海港村
and there is a seaport village
加上現代化的建築以及五星級飯店
along with the modern skyscrapers and 5 star hotels
整個區域就像熱帶度假區
the whole area is like the best tropical vacation spot
聖地牙哥最大的景點
and the most famous attraction in San Diego
就是海洋世界了~~
is of course Sea World !!
主要也是輕軌和公車系統
there is no need to worry about how to get there if you don't have a car
以上網址直接告訴你要搭幾號車到主要景點
the trolley and bus system will take you to most attractions
輕軌單程的票價是2.5美金
the price of transportation in one way costs 2.5 USD
但是day pass才5塊錢
but it's only 5 USD for day pass
那當然說什麼也要買day pass阿
sure you should get day pass !!
如果臨時想去其他地方
if you want to go somewhere with instant decision,
來回就省5塊了是不是!!!
you save 5 USD for round trip already
聖地牙哥大眾交通工具唯一有點讓人心驚驚的就是
but it's a little bit scary about the transportation there
有很多墨西哥裔的乘客
cuz there are a lot of passengers from Mexico
而且很多都不會講英文
and lot of them do not speak English
再加上從海濱社區往海洋世界的路上會經過舊城區
plus, you will pass midtown/old town on your way to Sea World from marina area
感覺超像在拍什麼毒窟電影(誤)
it's like passing drug dealer zone (just saying)
因為建築跟濱海社區差太多了
becuase the whole surrounding is way different from where I stayed
真的落差有點大
馬上來介紹住的地方吧
now, this is where I stayed
the 500 West hotel
這間有一點像背包客旅館
it's kinda like a hotel for backpackers
每間房間都是雅房
no bathroom in any rooms
有點小...
and the room is quite petite
但是有公共廚房，甚至有冰箱
but you can use public kitchen, fridge
以及交誼廳和像宿舍那樣的浴室
and lounge room, and bathroom like a dorm
我覺得就背包客類型的住宿來說
to tell the truth,
這算是挺高級的了
it's pretty fancy for backpackers
加上價格合理交通方便
also, the transportation is easy, the price is quite reasonable
一個晚上最便宜大概70塊美金
it costs about 70 USD per night
另有學生優惠喔(需證件)
they have student discount as well (discount card needed)
之前選擇住這裡，就是因為價格便宜
the reason why I decided to stay was because of the price
離車站只要五分鐘
and how close it is to bus station
附近還有超市可以讓你自己買東西回來煮
there is also a Ralph supermarket that u can shop and make your own dinner
省下到餐廳吃飯的昂貴費用
it might save u a lot from going to restaurant
還省小費~
and tips, too.
這個區域晚上治安也算不錯
the whole area is quite safe and quiet, even at night
大概就是一些出來慢跑的人
people come out jogging
以及觀光客們(附近有君悅飯店~)
and tourists (might come from Hyatt)
周遭也有很多小景點
lots of attarctions around 500 W hotel
(以下，是飯店離這些景點的距離)

San Diego Attractions- Little Italy - 3 blocks
- Gaslamp Quarter - 3 blocks
- Seaport Village - 6 blocks
- Westfield Horton Plaza - 6 blocks
- San Diego Convention Center - 1 mile
- Petco Park - 1 mile
- USS Midway Museum - 1 mile
- Balboa Park - 2 miles
- San Diego Zoo - 2 miles
- Old Town San Diego - 3 miles
- SeaWorld San Diego - 6 miles
- Wild Animal Park - 35 mile
吃完晚餐可以到旁邊的海港村逛逛
strongly recommend that go look around at Seaport Village
這裡有不少餐廳
there are many restaurants
如果不想要自己下廚，可以來這用餐
if you don't want to cook, u can stop here
餐後在這裡散散步買些紀念品
and wander here after meal and get souvenir
也是很有情調
pretty romantic
軍事迷們可以到中途島號博物館(USS Midway Museum)看看
if you are a fan of military stuff, stop by USS Midway Museum
即使沒有進去
even you don't go in
站在港邊就可以看到很多軍艦和軍機了
u will see many ship and aircraft just stand by the port
(因為票價不便宜，有預算考量的人要三思)
(cuz the price to the museum is pretty expensive, which is why I didn't go in)
but it looks fun from their web page
但是網頁地圖看起來，這博物館好像東西蠻豐富的
(不曉得台灣學生證他們認不認，如果認的話，學生票價為15美金)
(not sure if they accept Taiwanese student ID, if they do, it's 15 USD for student fee)
接下來
then
就是聖地牙哥紅牌
the big place of San Diego
海洋世界!!!!
Sea World !!!!!!
海洋世界是個主題樂園
it's a theme park
感覺有點像六福村
kinda like Liufoo in Taiwan
海洋世界的票價很嚇人
the price is of course terrible
(美國什麼票價都很不友善= =)
(every kind of ticket in US is not friendly at all)
網路購票可以省15美金，成人為64美元
if you purchase from their website, u save 15 USD
it still costs 64 USD for adult
如果現場購票的話，成人就要79美金
but if u get ticket at there, it's 79 dollars
台幣要2400了!!!!!!!
(有沒有突然覺得六福村好親民)
但我之前是買雙樂園(海洋世界+環球影城)票價
I had dual parks ticket (Sea World and Universal Studio)
總價是135
it was 135 in total
(環球影城成人票為84美金)
(the adult ticket for Universal Studio is 84 USD)
也就是說以現場票價為準的話
so that means if I purchase at spot
我總共省了28美金(八百塊台幣阿!!!!)
I saved 28 USD by getting the dual parks ticket
所以如果有打算去這兩個樂園的各位
so, don't fotget to buy this if you are planning on visiting both parks
切記要買雙樂園票
海洋世界必看的就是他們的殺人鯨表演秀
u can never miss the killer whale show in Sea World
還有海獅表演秀
and sea lion show
進去樂園的時候記得注意一下這兩場表演的時間喔
when u get into the park, mind the time for these 2 shows
喜歡芝麻街的各位
for people who like Sesame Street
海洋世界有4D芝麻街劇場
they have 4D theater for that
(我個人覺得太幼稚了 但是我還是有進去看XD)
(it's pretty children show, but I still went in)
雖然說有遊樂設施
even though they do have rides
但多是老少咸宜的溫和性設施
but most of them are very gentle
其中有個像六福村火山歷險的"亞特蘭提斯之旅"
the fun one calls Journey to Atlantis
還有像急流泛舟的"湍潮歷險"
and the other one is Shipwreck Rapids
這兩樣大概是全園最刺激的了
these 2 are prob the most exciting 2 in the park
另外兩個賞景的設施也不錯
and there are two other rides for good view
"高空塔"可以看到全園的景觀
u can see the whole park by taking Sky Tower
而"灣邊纜車"可以看到海灣風景喔
and the Bayside Skyride will shows u the bay around the park :)
整個園區內我最愛的就是殺人鯨表演
the thing I love the most is definitely the killer whale show--The Shamu Story
工作人員們甚至可以騎在殺人鯨上變成鯨騎士
they can ride on killer whales !!
好羨慕~~~
jealous~~
(據維基百科所言，海洋世界總共有10隻殺人鯨，
所以大家不用覺得他們虐待殺人鯨
逼他們天天要表演。其實是輪流上場的)
(they have 10 killer whales in the park, so no need to worry about they will be
too tired by "working" every day, because they take turns lol)
而殺人鯨也展現超高智慧
killer whales have highly intellegence
和工作人員們的互動好棒
and they have wonderful interaction with workers
還會頑皮的把前排觀眾都潑濕
they will also splash u into soaking wet
(所以前幾排的觀眾都會穿雨衣)
(that's why people where rain suit in the front rows)
再來，海獅秀也非常有趣
then, the sea lions are funny
海獅也是很聰明的生物
they are smart as well
經過訓練後可以和表演人員演出小小話劇
they can perform a tiny drama after they are trained
(the show I watch, they did CSI lol)
也會投籃跳圈圈等特技
they also know how to play basketball and other skills
保證跟殺人鯨秀一樣絕無冷場
it's a fun guaranteed show
主要的設施跟秀看完之後
after the main shows and rides u should not miss
就悠悠哉哉的逛逛園區吧
u can wander in the park casually
千萬別忘了到海豚角看看
and don't forget to stop at dolphin point
海豚們不怕生
they are friendly and hospitality
加上又是無頂式大水池
besides, it's a tank with no top
如果海豚游向你
if they swim toward u
你是可以伸手摸牠的喔!!!!!!!
just feel free to reach and touch them
(their skins are smooth but kinda hard)
當然，這裡也少不了觸摸池
of course, every aquarium has a touching zone
海星海膽等等通通讓你摸~
starfishes, sea urchins...etc.
另外，雖然我很喜歡北極熊
even though I LOVE polar bears
但總覺得他們讓北極熊和企鵝生活在地中海型氣候區有點殘忍
still think it's kinda cruel for them to stay at Mediterranean climate area
原則上在海洋公園玩一天大概就看得完所有東西囉
basically, one day is enough for Sea World
如果早一點來的話，可能可以看兩場殺人鯨秀
if you came early, you can watch 2 killer whale show,
and try to get the first row seat
(畢竟是聞名世界的的大秀，花這麼多門票錢總得想辦法讓自己覺得花的值得)
(after all, u spent a lot on the ticket,
it might makes u feel better by watching the world famous show TWICE)
不知道聖地牙哥為什麼總是不即洛杉磯或舊金山那樣受歡迎
I wonder why San Diego is not as popular as LA or SF
論氣候，聖地牙哥應該比舊金山更暖和乾燥
for weather concern, San Diego might be dryer than SF
論景點，聖地牙哥也不少
for attraction concern, it has a lot here as well
論地域，到聖地牙哥還可走訪美墨邊界(不知安不安全)
for location concern, you can visit Mexico (or just the border)
論購物，這裡也有大型outlet
for shopping concern, there is buy outlet here, too
我個人在實際抵達聖地牙哥之前
before I actually visit San Diego
其實也有很多疑慮(大部分是治安方面)
I worried a lot tho (especially for safety in the area)
但到了之後
but after I spent time here
我發現我很喜歡這個地方
I think I like it a lot :)
另外，有個很有名的小島也在這附近--
科羅納多島(Conorado Island)
BTW, there is a famous island here
主要是因為這間飯店啦
mainly because of Hotel Del Coronado
這是一間有125年歷史的手工搭建木造的五星級飯店
this is a five star hand built wooden hotel with 125 yrs history
據說那個尖塔形屋頂可是一根鐵釘都沒有用喔!
I think they didn't use any nails for that rooftop!!!
在1977年，這間飯店還獲選為國家歷史地標呢
in 1977, the hotel was ranked as a national historical landmark
另外，也被USA Today評選為世界十大度假村
and also became a World 10 Resorts, rated by USA Today
房價當然也很驚人啦
the price? scary!
一個晚上(非暑假旺季)就要280美金(還沒加稅)!!!!
280 USD per night (not taxed yet)
可惜我當年只排了一天半給聖地牙哥
it's a shame that I only stay in San Diego for 1.5 days
加上事前準備不足
and I didn't have enough preparation
完全沒有排到這個景點
so I missed this spot
更捶心肝的是，這個景點從我住的飯店也有公共運輸可以抵達!!!
even though the public transportation from 500 W can gets there
如果要去聖地牙哥的各位
don't forget to visit there
千萬別忘了去朝聖阿!!!
