Hello everyone
終於又到了美國時間的星期四
it's Thursday in US again
(上星期四是國慶日, 而且我住的地方沒有wifi所以無法發文, 請見諒)
(last Thursday was $th of July, and I had no wifi so I didn't write anything last week, sorry about that)
其實每星期三晚上我都很猶豫隔天要寫哪裡
I am worry every Wed nights, worry about what should I wirte about the next day
然後每次點開新增文章頁面我腦袋就一片空白
and every time I start the new page, my brain is like totally blank...
一直在想自己去過哪裡= =
trying hard to think about where I've been
然後發現去走訪那些地方的當下
and realized that I was not a very good photographer
我都沒有非常認真拍照
when I was visiting places
總之
anyway,
我現在腦袋中正好浮現西雅圖
somehow, Seattle pops out in my brain
那就來寫西雅圖吧 :)
so Seattle it is for today then
西雅圖位於美國太平洋沿岸最北的華盛頓州
Seattle is located in the North West Pacific coast, Washington State
它的北邊就是加拿大英屬哥倫比亞囉~
a little north than that would be British Columbia, Canada
根據維基百科的資料
according to Wikipedia,
西雅圖的官方別名為: 翡翠之城 (the Emerald City)
Seattle also has these names
雨城 (the Rainy City)，常綠之城 (Evergreen City)
阿拉斯加門戶 (the Gateway to Alaska)，女王之城 (Queen City)
其中，我非常認同雨城這個名稱= =
and I agree with the Rainy City
大概跟基隆有得比 (誤) XD
it's like Keelung in Taiwan lol
it sure does rain a lot
因為我去西雅圖玩的時候有朋友開車
we had friend from Seattle when we visited, so we drive from place to place
所以我不知道該如何介紹西雅圖的大眾交通工具 (跪)
in this case, I really don't know how to tell u about the public transportation in Seattle
但是， 西雅圖是個大城市
but, the good thing is, it is a big city
光是機場航廈間的輕軌電車就已經很方便了(也蠻乾淨的)
even the shuttle in Sea-Tac airport is clean and convenient
所以我相信它的大眾運輸應該不會輸LA
so I believe the public transportation would not be too bad
甚至可能比LA更乾淨?!
it might be even cleaner than LA (I'm just saying for I really can't compare these two)
如果計畫要去西雅圖玩的各位
if anyone is planning on visiting Seattle
我還是大概幫大家找了一下主要大眾運輸網站
there is info for transportation
由於西雅圖靠海，所以附近有很多小島
cuz it's a city next to the ocean, there are many small islands around
上述網頁也有渡輪的資訊喔
you can find the info of ferry from the website showed above
(本來我們要搭渡輪去賞鯨的，但因為跟當地朋友發生了一些不愉快
我們就被放鴿子了= =)
(we were suppose to take ferry for whale watching tour, but we had argument with
the one who was gonna take us, so it failed.)

應該就是咖啡和太空針塔了吧
coffee and Space Needle
太空針塔建於1962年的世界博覽會
Space Needle was build in 1962 for the World Exhibition
我相信每個人都有把太空針塔放在必訪景點的清單上
and I am pretty sure Space Needle is on every tourists' list
太空針塔的交通非常方便
the location of Space Needle is like perfect
兩年前我經過的時候
when I first past there 2 yrs ago
搭的是從溫哥華到西雅圖市中心的巴士
I was on the bus from Vancouver to Downtown Seattle
也就是說
which means,
太空針塔位於市中心
Space Needle is located in downtown
交通算是非常方便~
with convenient public transportation
官網上有地圖和交通方式(但沒有告訴大家可以搭什麼車到)
there is map and address, but didn't show how to get there
不過這個輕軌電車的官網上有告訴你怎麼搭乘它到西雅圖的主要景點喔~
so I find this monorail webpage, it shows you how to get to famous
spots in Seattle from taking monorail
如果只是要燈塔參觀，是需要付門票的
if you only want yo get on the tower, you need to buy ticket
(就跟到101的觀景台一樣，很貴)
(like you have to pay for go up to Taipei 101, it's expensive)
但是如果你要到上面的旋轉餐廳用餐
BUT, if you are going to the spinning restaurant on the top
那麼搭乘電梯上到餐廳與觀景台就免費喔
then you don't have to pay for the elevator and observatory
因為它的門票不便宜
the price for elevator is quite scaying
成人要21美金
it costs 21 USD for adult
與其花21美金搭電梯賞景
so, instead of spending 21 dollar for view
不如加碼個30美金左右
it's better you spend maybe 30 more
享美食與旋轉美景感覺划算多了!!!
then you can have great view, nice atmosphere, and delicious food
太空針塔上的旋轉餐廳叫做"天空之城"(Skycity)
the restaurant's name is Skycity
官網也不怕你看，連價格都付上
they're pretty generous, they show u the price on the menu online
(很多餐廳網站上的MENU是不會有價格的= =)
(lots of restaurants don't do that)
我不確定是不是有低消.....
I am not sure if there is a policy for minimum price that per person have to spend
如果真的有，點個開胃菜都還比電梯票價便宜呢
if there is, it's still cheaper to pay the appertizer than the elevator ticket
(請記得預約，在登塔之前一樓大廳會打電話都餐廳確認你是有預約的客人
這樣才免付電梯票價喔)
(DO remember to make reservation beforehand, there will be someone making sure
you are a reserved customer to the restaurant before you can even get in the lobby)
我相信大家都很聰明
I am sure everybody is smart like us
如果要一次看到兩種景色
if you want to see different view
勢必要預約黃昏日落的時段
the best time for you to come in would be the evening
然後用餐到天色變黑
you can have sunset view and night view if so
每個季節的日落時間不同，強烈建議大家預約前查一下大概的日落時間
make sure you check when is the sunset timing before you
even make a reservation
當然，因為這是個熱門景點
of course, this is a popular spot
我們當初是提前一個月就預約了(盡量避開周末晚間)
we made reservation one month before we are going
(and try to avoid going in on weekends)
因為這算是高級餐廳(我覺得很高級)
this is a quite fancy place
所以記得不要穿得太隨便(我記得有dress code喔)
so I think they do have dress code, Keep That In Mind !
菜色算蠻好吃的
foods are not too bad
但真的是有點貴
but the price is not so friendly
每天會有special的菜單
they do have special every day
通常比較便宜(但我當時應該也花了有40-50美金吧.....)
usually it's cheaper, but I think I still spent like 40 or 50
來點題外話，在美國吃東西不知道為什麼都好貴= =
and I can't understand why is it so expensive to eat in America
就連麥當勞也很貴
even Mcdonald's is expensive
更不用妄想有什麼超值午晚餐
there is no way to have a meal lower than 3 USD
我不懂為什麼連美國速食餐廳都這麼貴
don't understand why fast foods are so.....expensive
動不動就要5塊美金(可能也只是個麥脆雞之類的餐)
it's like easily 5 USD to eat here (even just for chicken fingers)
好啦，回到主題
Let's get back to what we were talking about
因為是旋轉餐廳
since this is a moving, spinning restaurant
用餐中途去個洗手間，就迷路了哈哈哈哈
you might get lost like me, after you go to restroom lol
只好在原地等到轉回我座位 XD
I had to wait till it spins to where my seat was
但是服務生都不會迷路超強!!!!!
and waiters and waitresses there never get lost !!! Amazing ~~
我覺得這個旋轉餐廳轉的速度挺快的
and it actually moves pretty fast
所以其實可以感覺到它在轉喔~
so you can feel that is really turning
用餐完可以搭電梯到觀景台
after dinner, you can go up to the observatory
可以看到市中心的夜景
you will see downtown Seattle
也可以看到不遠處忙碌的港口
and the busy harbor not far from there
我覺得相較於101完全只有市中心的燈光
compare with Taipei 101, which only shows the busy city
太空針塔的變化比較讓人驚喜
Space Needle gives you more surprise
西雅圖的BAR好多= =
we went to bar after dinner, there are so many bars in Seattle
單行道也有夠多(非常討人厭)
and one way road too, very annoying
然後不曉得是我們運氣太好還是發生什麼事
not sure if we were too lucky or if there is something wrong
在西雅圖的幾個晚上看到的帥哥好像都是.......
good looking guys we saw during our visit were all.......gays
令人搥心肝阿!!!!!!!!!!!!!
totally heartbroken lol
再來介紹一下我們住的飯店
and this is where we stay for the first 2 nights
這間飯店走現代風格
a modern style hotel
整個很有個性
very cool
有個性到用個wifi也要錢
so cool that you have to pay for wifi :(
房間也不太大而且很貴
and the room is not big, but expensive
可是它在交通方便的市中心
but it's downtown Seattle, it's easy to get to places
而且乾淨
and I have to say, the room is clean
飯店樓下的餐廳也很酷
and the restaurant next to the lobby is nice
有點像W Hotel的感覺
kinda like W hotel
飯店裡面附的盥洗用品還是Aveda的喔
and they serve Aveda lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and soap
這樣你就知道它貴在哪了 (誤)
now you know why it is expensive (jk)
這間飯店的好處是，附近有站牌，用走的就可以到太空針塔(約20分鐘)
the good thing about here, is that there are bus stops,
and it takes only 20 mins if you decide to walk to Space Needle
也有Walgreen以備你有什麼生活上的不時之需
also, there is a Walgreen not too far just in case you need anything
雖然價格有點驚人，但如果是4人住一間房間分攤費用的話
the price is quite scaring, but if you are a group to share
我覺得是還勉強可以接受的
I think it's acceptable
一個人一晚上大概1500吧
about 1500 NT per person for a night
(出門在外嘛~而且美國住宿本來就不便宜)
(well, you are traveling, and it is not cheap to stay in America,
especially a big city)
如果你有預算考量
if you have budget concern
附近的Kings Inn就便宜許多了
Kings Inn is more cheaper, and it's in downtown as well
也有免費WIFI
more importantly, they have free wifi
但是房間感覺老舊許多
but the room is older
安全性方面當然也不及高級飯店
and prob not as safe and clean as that fancy hotel
幫大家查了一下
I checked it for you guys,
一間房一個晚上最便宜是99美金(未含16%稅)
one night for a room here is 99 USD (16% tax is not included yet)
價格是Hotel Max的一半
so it's about half price of Hotel Max
(但這個網頁預約無法輸入人數, 所以我不確定這個價格是幾個人可以入住)
(I can't type in how many people for staying on the reservation page for Kings Inn tho,
so I am not sure how many people can stay with this price)
如果你是個一定要用網路又有預算考量的旅客
if you love wifi and on a budget concern
這間我有住過一個晚上
I stayed here for one night
原則上算是可以推薦給有條件考量的大家 :)
so basically, it's not a bad choice for who has those concern
再來，西雅圖不能錯過的就是第一間星巴克阿!!!
and then, you cannot miss the very first Starbucks
第一間星巴克位於派克市場
it is located in Pike Place Market
派克市場是全美最老的農貿市場
Pike is the oldest market in America
是西雅圖重要觀光景點之一
and one of the most important sightseeing place
派克市場有一部分像傳統市場
part of the market is like traditional market in Taiwan
另一部分有點像創意市集，有很多當地人手工的小東西
and some other parts kinda looks like the market for people who hand made little stuff
and sell them here
也因為有第一間星巴克的加持
because of the first Starbucks,
這個區域每年吸引百萬遊客造訪
Pike Place Market attracts millions tourists here every year
這間星巴克成立於1971年
this Starbucks was founded in 1971
它的招牌也還是原始的咖啡色雙尾美人魚
the sign is still the origianl brown 2 tails mermaid
我去的時候沒有買咖啡
I didn't get coffee when I visited
但是買了招牌隨行杯(可是是made in China)
but I bought a cup (made in China tho)
大概360台幣
it was 12 USD
還是比在台灣隨便買個隨行杯便宜ㄟ
cheaper than any cups in Starbucks in Taiwan
雖然有人跟我說要買就應該要買保溫杯
Tho somebody tells me I should got the steel one
因為這種隨行杯感覺就那張夾在中間的紙值錢
because the reason why my normal cup is so expensive was just because of the paper
which has logo on it
而且我回國後不久摔到一次....
and it fall once not too long after I got back to Taiwan
中間就有點漏水了 (淚)
then it starts leaking a little bit
附近還有有名的巧達濃湯和炸魚塊
over that area, there is famous and delicious clam chowder and fired fish
當時吃這一間
I had both in Ivar's
創始於1938年
it started business in 1938
感覺老字號又很多遊客應該就不會是地雷
if a place is old enough and still has lots of customers,
then the food won't be bad
也離派克市場不遠
and it's very close to the market
從星巴克大概散步10分鐘就會到了
it only takes 10 mins walk from Starbucks
我們點了最有名的巧達濃湯還有炸魚薯條
巧達濃湯真的很好喝 :)
clam chowder was great !! and very rich :)
有到西雅圖的人也千萬別錯過!
don't miss that if u are going to Seattle
後來因為朋友有事加上西雅圖天氣很陰雨綿綿
then our friend has date with her friends,
and the weather was kinda suck
所以我們另外三個人就在市中心逛街
so three of us just shop around downtown
還意外找到珍珠奶茶! (其實大學城附近有很多家店都有賣)
and found bubble milk tea !!! (actually there are many places have this around university)
而且西雅圖亞洲學生也不在少數
and there are many Asian students in Seattle
我只能說西雅圖很好逛
I have to say Seattle is a pretty nice easy for shopping
(如果價格再親民一點，外國人又可以享有免稅的話就更美好了)
(would be even better if the price is lower, and foreigners don't have to be taxed)
畢竟，明明是外國人買東西還要繳稅金感覺就很不爽
after all, it feels sucks to pay tax when you are not a citizen at all
尤其大城市的稅還很重
especially the tax is heavy in big cities
最後，介紹一個女人都會失心瘋的景點
In the end, a place for women to get crazy
OUTLET !!!!!
但outlet很遠= =
but this outlet is pretty far from downtown
如果各位沒有開車，可能就要跟這個點說掰掰了
if you guys don't drive, you might have to skip this stop
不過他的官網上有提供一些交通方式
but there are some transpotation info on their website
我不知道價格就是了
I don't know how much it cost tho
真的很想去又沒開車的朋友可以參考看看
but if you really want to go and has no vehicle for your own, maybe try this:
裡面日本客真的超多
there are lots of Japanese
華人也不少
and Chinese
多到Coach的店員有會講日文的也有會講中文的
so many of them that Coach needs people who speak Japanese/Chinese to work there
說實話我在美國打工兩次
to tell you the truth, I attened W&T in US twice
我每次都有到Coach買東西
and I bought bags in Coach twice
(明明Coach包就是中國製的我還是買了)
(even though most of them are made in China, I still bought it)
哀哀
that's sad
他們光賺亞洲遊客錢就不會倒了阿
to know their business will never die by only making money from Asian
看來品牌迷思需要打破!!!!
seems like we need to break the myth/fantasy of the brand
Anyway
我的西雅圖之旅幾乎都在市中心(除了Outlet之外)
most of my time in Seattle was spend in downtown
市中心就夠我們待三天三夜
and can't believe it's big enough for us to stay there for 3 days
除了天氣很糟單行道很多之外
except the bad weather and one way roads
西雅圖算是個還挺友善的城市
Seattle is a quite friendly city
可能是對於亞洲面孔早就見怪不怪了吧
perhaps it has sth to do with they are familiar with Asian faces
我們最後一天早上還跟黑人有點小擦撞
the last morning there, we had small accident with a black guy
兩個女生在車裡看到黑人下車差點沒嚇死
we were super frighten when we saw a big black guy got out of the car
結果那個黑人超NICE
but it turned out that black is very nice
一直跟我們說不用擔心
he told us there is no need to be worry
但是程序上就是得通知警察
but the formal procedure is the call the police before we leave
警察來之後問我們是否已經和解了
and the police came and knew that we are good
然後警察反而問我們叫他來幹嘛= =
then he asked us why do we call him here lol
所以說真的不能有種族偏見喔各位
so seriously, we need to get rid of racial stereotype, too
西雅圖之旅到此結束
