I am the shadow that passes

Over the sand.

I am the leaf that quivers,

You the unshaken tree;

You are the stars that are steadfast,

I am the sea.

You are the light eternal,

Like a torch I shall die…

You are the surge of deep music,

永恆的光

我是浮動的風。

妳是堅定的大地；

我是那雲影，

飄過沙土而去。


我是那搖落的葉片，

妳是撼不動的大樹。

妳是那常駐的星星，

我是那奔騰的大海。


妳是永恆的光，

我像一支火炬，不久就會熄滅。

妳是偉大樂章激越澎湃，

而我，只是一聲呼嘯。
