The Things I Prize

These are the things I prize
And hold of dearest worth…
Light of the sapphire skies,
Peace of the silent hills,
Shelter of the forest, comfort of the grass,
Music of birds, murmur of little rills,
Shadows of clouds that swiftly pass,
And, after showers,
The smell of flowers
And of the good brown earth…
And best of all, along the way,
Friendship and mirth.

這些是我所讚美的東西
擁有最高的價值…
青玉般的天空，
遠山默默的和平。
綠草的慰藉，森林的遮護。
小鳥的音樂，小河的細訴。
快速掠過的雲影，
還有，雨後
花兒的芳馨，
褐色的泥土氣息。
而最好的東西，
莫如路上的歡樂和友誼。
