此首《These Are the Days》為北愛爾蘭歌手兼詞曲作家Van Morrison自寫自唱，並收錄於其1989發行的專輯《Avalon Sunset》中。後另發行單曲，卻為另首《Orangefield》的B面，主打歌才勉強擠進英國排行榜 ( # 70 )，附打歌就更不用談了------靜悄悄的躺在榜外。( 怎會這樣？當時英國佬的耳朵壞去了嗎？)

出生於1945的Van Morrison出道甚早，早期擔任Them樂團的主唱，1964即以一首garage 搖滾《Gloria》闖出名號。1967開始單飛，從靈魂、節奏藍調、爵士、鄉村到民謠、流行，幾乎所有類別的歌曲他都唱。總共得過6座葛萊美獎，也是搖滾和歌曲作家名人堂的成員。由於對音樂的供獻，1996被授予OBE的勳銜。2015更被受封為爵士 ( Knight Bachelor )。

有人說，這首歌圍繞著許多的情緒。夏日將逝，傷感之情不禁讓人回想起過往的人生，或有某些的懊悔，但歡樂還是居多。夏日雖已過去，對未來卻是更充滿了希望。
