as i got off the TGV train in Lyon Part Dieu station, i just felt it’s so much like in LA. both the continental weather and the streets are just like in LA.
delphine drove me home, she was a nervous driver for not driving often and not very familiar with the course from train station to home. so, i was tense too. but everything just turned out fine.
i do like the atmosphere in Lyon. despite that Lyon is the second biggest city in france, the pace is much slower than in taipei. for me, which means taipei is something of a metropolitan city.
as the dry and cool breeze groping my face, i felt so comfy and refreshing. the air is not like in taipei. the wind is always hot and stuffy in taipei which always causes me splitting headaches. but here in Lyon, my habitual headache is totally gone. i feel very relaxed and serene.
people around me speak a language i don’t know at all. but i don’t even feel tense or uneasy. people are friendly in france, at least in Lyon. on this point, i feel at home in taiwan, another well-known friendly country.
i feel like starting to learn franch when back to taiwan.
delphine’s house is in montanay, a community on a little hill. she has a cat named lulu. it is a he. delphine said lulu is a boy’s name in franch. but i think in chinese or even in english, it’s often refering to a girl’s name. anyways, mr.lulu is a happy, fat, and lackadaisical cat loved by the family.
i found lavender planted in the garden, and that fascinated me. that’s one of my favorite flowers. there are gardens around her house. it’s just beautiful as in movie scenes. no wonder delphine complained about the living quality when she was in taipei.
delphine is really good at cooking. she introduced and made every meal for me. they are all local dishes. she said proudly to me that Lyon is the capital city of franch food.
speaking of delicious food, i am mouth-watering.
oh, i gotta go. she is summoning me for lunch now!
