這是一首敘事詩般的歌曲，描寫阿姆斯特丹港水手的生活
裡頭有水手的縱情、豪氣、野蠻，與宿命
他們是活在社會最底層的一群人
無法選擇宿命，是宿命選擇了他們
註定要將生命交給大海，註定要與酒色為伴
沒有人會記得他們真正的名字，水手就是他們的名。
這讓我想起戲劇課老師播的鐘樓怪人舞台劇，
成天遊蕩作樂的吉普賽人們，被迫害、放逐，一無所有
因為一無所有，才能無所顧忌地成群狂歡
一切對他們來說都無意義
活著就是享樂，在無比殘酷的金字塔底端
歌詞中描述的生活在現實中也許野蠻、淫亂
但從吟遊詩人口中唱出的
是詩化的傳說
關於活在都市邊緣的
一群水手
