A guy I work with told me an interesting story yesterday. His girlfriend died of cancer in February, she was in her middle-40s and a long time smoker
He told me that he woke up at 3 in the morning and saw her standing in the hallway, but she was looking away from him. He crawled to the end of the bed because if he got out of bed he would have lost sight of her. He could only see her by the night light in the bathroom. But when he got off the end of the bed she walked forward into the next room and just disappeared. The night before he had a dream about her, he said he always remembers his dreams and this was the first time he saw her in a dream. The next day he got some books on ghosts to read about such visitations. One book said that it is best to only see ghosts from a distance, because if you get too close to them they can draw you into the otherworld. After hearing this story, I did not say what was on my mind- that he was only having a very vivid dream.( But Jim-that’s his name-knows that I’m a skeptic) He assured methat what he saw was real. I think it is common to have dreams about people close to you who have passed away. I did not want to say that to him however, Just listening is all that is necessary.
