This Monday my ESL teacher asked us to write a true story which took place
in Truman College. The title of the story must be " RIGHT HERE," and the
story must be exactly one page long. The body of the story was in type size 14
and it was 1.5 spaces between lines and justified to both the left and right
columns. We also changed the page set-up to .7 inches on top and bottom and
left and right. The type font was ARIAL, the title was centered, all capitals and bold
in type size 26. What's more, we didn't put our names on the papers. They were
intended to be anonymous. According to my teacher Jeff, RIGHT HERE! was
a project designed as a guerilla writing assignment. He hoped that we would
have fun with this assignment.
After we wrote the story, we printed it and attached it to the wall in the location
where the story happened. In this way, anyboy walking by will be able to read the
story about something that happened RIGHT HERE!
The following is my RIGHT HERE! story, and when I was attaching it on the wall
this Tuesday afternoon, a woman was right there and was excited to read my story.
She said." Wow! RIGHT HERE! " By the way, she also helped me to attach the story,
making the paper flater and smoother on the wall. However, she already knew who
wrote it. It was out of my expectation.

RIGHT HERE!
In a hot and humid afternoon, I was writing in the computer lab of Truman College. Actually, I had no idea about what to write, and I didn’t know how to meet my teacher’s demand for the writing assignment. I was confused and also sleepy as I sat down in front of the computer trying to type some words. Suddenly, good news came to my ear! My classmate who was sitting beside me said that she worked in a salon and if Iwant my hair cut, I can go to her place. In this way, I don’t have to pay so much money to the salon, and my classmate also can earn more money than what she can get in the salon. You know, since I came to Chicago last March, I have been looking for a good hairstylist who can make my hairstyle more beautiful and much easier to maintain, and who wouldn’t cost me a lot of money. It seemed that I should give my classmate a try. So I made an appointment with her and she said she could drive me to her place and cut my hair after class. You know,I have been to some American style barbers, but they didn’t know how to cut a Chinese woman’s hair, so sometimes my husband drove me to Chinatown to find a Chinese style barber. But the price was always expensive; it may cost me $40 dollars each time I have my hair cut. Because of the expensive fee of hair cutting, I go to the barber twice a year. But when I was in Taiwan, I went to the barber four to five times a year. What’s more, it is hard for me to put up with long bangs, so sometimes I cut my bangs on my own, and it makes me look so ugly. Last Christmas, I flew back to Taiwan. When I entered my parents’ house, my sister said to me, ”Would you please have your haircut? You look so terrible!” From my sister’s words, you know how badly I need a good hairstylist. Now I look forward to going to my classmate’s place to have my hair cut. If she really does a good job, I will go to her place whenever I want to have a good hairstyle and a new look. By the way, if you read this article and you know some good Chinese style or Japanese style barber, please call me.
