Features: Restaurant number 3 in the well kept portfolio of well known Vancouver Restauranteur, Harry Kambolis.

Their menus are printed on a sheet of flammable paper.  When we looked away for a second, one of our menus actually caught on fire! Another example of their attempt to be creative is their deep fried oyster dish which comes with a syringe full of beer.
 I think the novelty factor made it taste better.


The decor of the place was really cool...  it reminds me of something out of life aquatic with steve zissou... the whole picture book boat.  loved the neon green chandelier... odd, but definitely different.
 



The chairs are all spinning low back square seats that look like they're straight out of the 70's.  very cool, but not so comfy cuz there's nothing to lean on.


They have pretty cool chairs, lounge tables, glass dividers, and lights in green or brown.  You can see their theme colors on their website. 

i was a bit disappointed with the washrooms though, they looked kinda dingy.  would have thought they would do something cool with it, i always look forward to funky washrooms. 


I was positively surprised by Nu.  It’s not the typical fusion place you would have expected.  Good ambiance, retro chairs (with no backrests), good view, and creative and delicious tapas and main courses.  Whether it’s a plus or minus, they tried really hard to be different and creative.

Nu Restaurant is not by coincidence that this handsome eatery sits next to "C" under the Granville Street Bridge. Eclectic menu with a strong French Bistro fore thought. Chef de Cuisine is Robert Belcham.

 

The mousse cake was to die for it, the amount of richness in chocolate was just perfect. Served with melt-in-your-mouth lava cakes. The crème brulee was made with too much alcohol and the crust of the crème brulee was already broken and blended in the cup for us – not how I eat my crème brulee. It seemed as though it was burnt as well.
