俚語精解
bookworm意思是「書蟲」，是指一種吃紙為生的小型蛀蟲，即俗稱的「蠹書蟲」。另一方面也可指熱中閱讀的「書癡」或「書呆子」。本對話是採前者之意，引伸為「書呆子」。表達相似意思的字詞還有book lover或是bibliophile。
例：Everybody knows Peter is a bookworm. In fact, he was so absorbed in his books that he didn't even notice someone broke into his house.（大家都知道彼得是個書呆子。事實上，他讀書讀到廢寢忘食，甚至連有人闖進他家都沒發現。）
