Nearly all the conscious attempts to forget someone worth remembering go futile. Memories never make easy concessions. They keep rushing back and forth our minds. They goad us into bursts of anger, but bring us laughter and cheers as well. They challenge the ray of hope we hold in despair until it wears off.
The saddening truth is that we resign ourselves to the power of memories, to the very thought of the one we should have forgotten. We feign indifference but that doesn’t promise us an easier way out. We indeed make fool of ourselves. Fluctuating between pleasure and pain turns us off the sensible decision-making. There seems to be no solutions, though.
Fortunately, too much hasn’t be tried to win the losing bouts with our inner world. Emotions come and go and are burnt deep down inside. We, as a result, make better losers if we ask not that much.
