Glendronach 15yo 40% OB Matured in Sherry Cask

C: deep amber, brown gold

20 N: sherry, caramel, coffee, smoke, nutty, a little grapefruit

19 T: medium, round and smooth, a little sour, smoky, coffee, baked wood, creamy

19 F: medium, some grapefruit, caramel and coffee style

19 B: somehow balanced, less complexes

 

Glendronach 1970/1990 20yo 56% Dun Eideann Italian Type C#546~558 1800Bts

C: brown

22 N: 醬漬,糯米,粽葉, a little plum, meat, cream, honey, deep and rich ripe fruits

21 T: full, dry, round and rich, plum, creamy, honey, fresh sherry and some chocolate, w/ hint of mint

20 F: very long, a little salty, soil oil, meat, wood cask, deep, oil and sticky, but few complexes at the end

21 B: good balanced, more like a 25yo old bottle, good impact, cask strength cognac?

 

Yoichi 余市15yo 45% OB

C: amber, gold

21 N: lightly sherry, vanilla, honey, a little orange, cherry, then some cream,龍眼乾, riasin

21 T: medium->light, a little spicy, raisin, ginger, smooth and elegant

20 F: medium, cream, orange, honey, ginger, but degraded fast, few complexes and variant at the end

21 B: good balanced both for N & T, easy to drink, some touching at the end due to a hint of fresh sherry?

 

Yoichi 余市20yo 56% C#204998 18E10D OB Distillery Visitor only

C: amber, brown gold

23 N: long, extended rich fruits, caramel, honey date, lightly sherry, a little smoke w/ honey, nutty, almond, vanilla, followed by some Indian corn, amber, grapefruits, then some peanut jam, baked oak

22 T: medium, dry, salty, rich and complexes, oil, strong impact, obviously Indian corn, caramel, a little bitterness, vanilla, some spicy at the end

22 F: medium, some chocolate, cocoa, honey date, rich vanilla, full texture

22 B: good balanced, smooth wood cask(new), American Oak(first sherry, rose, then bourbon)? Quite interesting!

 

Yoichi 余市20yo 55% OB (older version)

C: amber, red gold

22 N: elegant sherry, a little sodium, fire match, wood, then black date, plum, then some smoke and peat

22 T: full, rich and round, a little dry, caramel, some sodium, cocoa and chocolate

22 F: long, brown sugar, cocoa, chocolate, some plum, raisin, smoke and sherry wood at the end

22 B: good balanced and texture, easy to drink

 

Yoichi 余市20yo 52% OB(new version)

C: deep amber, red brown

24 N: rich flavors, barley sugar, coconut, tropical fruit, tangerine, a little smoke and hint of sulphurs

22 T: full, round and smooth, rich fruits, some truffle, chocolate, good texture

22 F: long, good extension, smoky and baked fruits, some chocolate, mocha at the end. Still variant

22 B: good balanced both for N & T. complexes w/ strong body and rich flavors. I enjoy the new version more


Yoichi 余市1987/2008 20yo 55% OB WWA受賞紀念款 1350Bts

C: amber

24 N: toffee, candy floss, some fresh sherry, then a little sea wind, fresh grass, beautiful and elegant, smoke, peaty, some white flowers, black bean, good layers, followed by some fresh plum, soilage, vanilla, Chenin Blanc, musk, green apple peels, amazing!

23 T: medium, a little dry, some white grape fruit, excellent wood cask, sweet toffee, fresh malty, a little thin wood but w/ very good texture and complexes

24 F: very long, baked wood, rich spices and fresh, pears, 楊桃汁, some ginger, hint of mint, very impressive! Now it’s more like an American white new oak

23 B: very good balanced, not traditional Yoichi, good extension and layers. Highly enjoyable!
