中1120萬加元樂透 老夫婦全捐出

年過七旬的加拿大拉吉夫婦今年7月中了樂透，卻慷慨把1120萬加元彩金全數捐出，因為他們相信施比受更有福。當了千萬加元的過路財神，拉吉夫婦卻一點也不心疼，他們說：「若你從未擁有，也就無所謂失去。」
英國每日郵報報導，75歲的艾倫和78歲的凡歐莉特（Allen and Violet Large）結婚36年。兩人同在1983年退休，住在東南部小鎮下特魯羅（Lower Truro）。艾倫說，他們雖不是有錢人，但日子過得還算舒適。
今年7月拉吉夫婦中了超過1120萬元的樂透大獎，當時凡歐莉特正因癌症接受化療，如何處理這筆橫財和應付想分一杯羹的各路牛鬼蛇神，一度使老夫妻相當恐懼且傷神。經過討論，他們決定把獎金全數捐出。
這筆獎金的受惠單位包括地方消防隊、教會及墓園，治療凡歐莉特的醫院，紅十字會及救世軍等慈善組織，癌症及阿茲海默症研究單位，以及需要幫助的友人，但拉吉夫婦不願公布各單位受贈金額。
凡歐莉特說：「這筆錢有了更好的用處，我們很開心。」艾倫則說：「這筆錢不算什麼，重要的是我和凡歐莉特擁有彼此。」

After winning $11.2 million in the lottery this past summer, Allen and Violet Large of Lower Truro could have lived large for the remainder of their years on Earth. You can bet your bottom dollar that 98 per cent of people would have done
just that — whether or not they were in their 70s like the
Larges.
But instead, after taking care of family, the retired couple have lavished the rest of their vast fortune on a laundry
list of charities. They are staying in their old, but
comfortable home and going about their normal lives, which
have been disrupted for months by Mrs. Large’s bout with
cancer.
