冬天的太陽，散發著年度最後的溫暖。
美惠低著頭，替盆栽添土清理。偶一抬望，清朗碧藍的天空中，出現一隻盤旋來回的鷹。她狂喜地叫著:”那是我的鳥！去年冬天，它瑟縮地停在樹下。”美惠用心語跟它說話。
從此，只要美惠在，它就會飛出來，繞頂問候。
Lowering her head, filling the soil into the pot, Mary told me that her dog had trampled the plant. She straightened the plant in the pot. and tenderly washed each leaf.
An eagle circled high above her head. Raised her head, Lifting her gaze, she shouted,” It’s my bird.” As she moved the dust from the leaves, one by one, she smiled and remembered when she had seen it the previous winter. It was a very big bird, with its head hidden under its wings trembling from the cold. From a distance she looked at it through the fence and talked to it in her mind for a while.
From that day on, the eagle would appear in the sky, circling , circling, when Mary was there. It seems as though the eagle likes to say “hello” to her.
