It has been said, “Not everything that is learned is contained in books.” Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?

In my opinion, gaining knowledge from experience is more important than from books. When it comes to gain knowledge, most of people will think about learning from books. Exactly, a lot of knowledge and new information are contained in books. We can always read something new from magazines or get knowledge in every book. On the other hand, the knowledge in books just lay in the pages. They do not work without practicing yourself. When the teacher teaches you a new skill or knowledge, you must try to use it. Then you will know the real meaning of it.
The first reason that can be presented to develop my position is that learning knowledge from experience will let you know knowledge is “alive”. A good example may be found in the case that when we learn driving, we read some driving companions to pass the test. But having the license doesn’t represent that you can drive on the roads. Without practice, you will never realize the true conditions in our life.
In addition, there is another reason for me to choose this statement. The reason is that we can not know everything by only reading books. Therefore, we should find out evidences to compare with in our life. For example, after reading the plant encyclopedia, we just “see” the pictures on books. Not until seeing the real trees, flowers, or any other plants that we are considered that we “know them.”
Admittedly, it may be true that “no book is better than you believe that all books try to telling you.” After reading some stories or reports, we will not know if it is true or not. We have to develop our judgment in our daily life. Using the judgment to observe everything, and it will be very useful for everyone to learn knowledge from experience.
