Business need to have the right people in the right role to survive.
Planning your exit is like schedule your funeral. It evokes fears and emotions long hidden under layers of defense mechanisms and imperceptible habits.

No leadership development program can be effective unless it provides mechanism for exposing future leader to the full range of the company’s operation. By introducing their raising star to new business units, geographies and business challenges (managing a turnaround, for instance, or launching a new product in a foreign market), company can help the executives-track employees broaden their power bases and spheres of influence while giving them a sense of how the different parts of the organization work together to execute the overall corporate strategy.

I was thinking if I am in the leadership training team. And it is required to rotate to another department such as finance, R&D or other departments which you are not very good at, how do you face it and how it will be. I think again and the only solution is get yourself read and immense more to the environment that make yourself prepare to be a great leader of company.

This article is quite interesting, because I was thinking only about the marketing and sales aspect of my future. After reading it, I know MBA is preparing you to be at lease know the basic idea of different things, once you being placing to that position, you can easy to get ready and perform the function in that department.
