Letter from Jean again. Recently I have heard a lot of news about CPE. Both positive and negative. Mostly the news is from students around where I live. And thanks Jean! he wrote me and tried to make me have more clear idea about the CPE.
Dad asked me whether it is ok now in France. I think is ok, just it is part of life to experience some events like this. Today when I was on the way to school, the Reims university student was gather together in fron of their school. People was talking with microphone and the audience were exciting about what he said. But, will it really work for futuer unemployment issue in France. Will it really solve the problem? But at lease student tried to speak for their right and tried to care about their future in the coming years.
The letter from Jean:
Bonjour Saprina,
A bit of politics!
You must have heard about CPE and students’unrest.
I know there is a big problem in French youth, but the governments in the former 20 years are responsible.(left and right) They did not do anything for the youth.
Now the right tries to do something and the left is puting oil on the fire! All they think about is presidential election.... and they forget the future of France. No long term policy. They ALL think about election or reelection.
French democracy is sick.
We had free election. And now the parliement votes a new law. Bad or good is not the problem. We are in a demoracy so we should accept this law voted by our representatives.
But no. A violent minority, partly manimulated by the socialists who want to regain their lost majority, goes on the street and riots.
The winner: stupid politicians, the looser: France. And we are going to sink more ane more in the world industrial nations!
We loose our time and waste huge amounts of money in repairing destroyed equipment.
A man is in coma in hospital, a student died in university because of some weakness and stress.
Is that fair?
More private: i believe deeply in democracy... but seeing and knowing so many things i sometimes think i am not going to vote on the next election!
But on the other hand, people died for freedom and democracy. How can i ignore their fight?
I try to explain a bit of French politics. It needs much more time.
Being an honest politician is difficult and rare but they exist.
I try to have a balanced opinion.
Not easy to be "l’avocat du diable". (devil’s advocate) It means defend the undefendable!
Sunshine today. A walk in the park? Most probably some flowers already around all the green areas near your "home".
Je t’embrasse.
JEAN
