HK011 Not aggressive

推薦 0 收藏 0 轉貼0 訂閱站台

I have always given people an impression that I’m not aggressive.

This bothers me the most when looking for a job. I have to show my enthusiasm, have to be very articulative, and have to be proactive. I always have to force myself to do that, in order to make a good impression to the interviewer and get the job.

I wouldn’t really say that I’m not aggressive. My conclusion of discussion with a friend is, we’re just being polite, not NOT aggressive. But anyways that’s what people perceive us. We can not change them but to prove them by working hard.

Only in one aspect that I would admit that I’m not aggressive. Some people will always send resumes to like 30-50 companies, go to many interviews, and probably have handful offers to make decision in the end. I’m totally not like that. I usually try 2 or 3 opportunities at a time. If all failed then I start another small round. Usually I take the very first offer that I receive.

I consider all I need is to settle down with one job. Maybe I haven’t tried my best, but so what. So here it is. I’ve got the oral admission of this job under my beloved company that I’ve worked for almost three years. All I hope now is that they’ll give me a market competitive salary. I need to worry about that because our HR thinks the firm is doing a favor for me.

Other than that, I’m excited about learning more about China. In one way I’ll study on coal, aluminum, copper, zinc, gold, and etc. (metal/mining sector), on the other hand I’ll know more about wine and beer brewery, maybe some corn and milk etc. (consumer sector).

Sounds like more fun than technology components!

Re an impression of being not aggressive: think it’s good personlality of you and to life. It’s also why your friends like you. Facing to job, my view is at the end of day, ppl see your professionalism and ppl remember you and your strentness. You are still young and no need to being ”so” aggressive to work , still days, years to go,right? Yeah, i agree with you that your firm sucks on salary and mean to their staff and they alway think they do a great favor to you. Bxll Shxx! believe HK, more opportunity there, maybe try at the same time with other firms. it’s good for you.

Tell you a ”pa gua”: recently we got Mr. CHU’s cv, one animal that you hate, for one vacancy. Guess what, he even does not hv chance for 1st interview..so as long as you do great and ppl will remember what you did and how you are. Being aggressive just a make-up for you when you need it. cheers

well, i wanted to reply last time but just being so lazy in these days.
i had the same discussion with friends about how people perceive me during a short interview: not aggressive!! The conculsion I got is that i am always too honest regarding all kinds of questions, not knowing to answer them in a smarter way;
plus my voice is probably too low and I talk too slow, which makes people think I am not that interested.....only after quite a few interviews make me evaluate myself...
I wish you can get the offer with attractive payment. take care~

Girls, I’m so glad to see that there are people on the same boat. Actually, all of our messages showed one same word: lazy. haha...

Yiching, your response reminds me my mom, who is also a 金牛座. I feel your philosophy is very similiar to hers. She always tells me not to hurry about landing a job, there’s nothing to worry about, etc... :D

Aah-gwen, I totally understand what you feel. you have only two choices lah, change your attitude (not being yourself so honestly in interviews) or accept yourself completely (to be like Yiching and my mom). hee hee.. good luck.
