Hip hop music can be hilarious sometimes. Rap group D12 showed the world how this is done in their 2004 song "My Band", the first single from their second album D12 World. The song depicts the fictional situation that Eminem is the lead singer of the "band" and how the other group members are ignored.
The humorous music video for the song in which several pop acts are parodied was nominated for several awards in the MTV Video Music Awards 2004. The group carried through the parody in their VMA performance with Eminem acting as Axl Rose in the beginning. At one point of the performance Eminem even pulled down his pants but MTV decided to cut out that part because of Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" incident happened earlier that year.
