"Behind Blue Eyes" is one of the most famous songs by English rock group The Who. The song has been covered numerous times by various artists like Bryan Adams, Lifehouse, Limp Bizkit, and Pearl Jam, etc.. American singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow also did a sad cover of "Behind Blue Eyes", which appeared in the tribute album Substitute: Songs from The Who released in 2001.
This cover is used in an episode of Californication Season 2, in which the pathetically lovable character Lew Ashby, who is perfectly ready to fix his mess, accidentally dies of an overdose of heroin, which he had mistaken for cocaine.
