Linkin Park rose to superstardom with their debut album Hybrid Theory in the early 2000s. Just like the rap rock cross genre boosted by bands like Limp Bizkit, the genre of Hybrid Theory was literally a hybrid of rap, metal, and electronica, which proved successful as the album was well received by critics and fans soon after its release.
"In the End", which was the fourth single from Hybrid Theory, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was reckoned to be Linkin Park's most famous song worldwide. The song featured the classic Linkin Park style, namely Mike Shinoda's intense rap and Chester Bennington's raging howl.
