"Stay (I Missed You)" is American singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb's signature song, which made her the first unsigned artist to score a No. 1 single.
The story behind the song is well known. Actor Ethan Hawke, a friend of Loeb's, enjoyed the song and sent it to Ben Stiller, who was working on the film Reality Bites. The song then became the soundtrack of the movie and gradually gained attentions.
The music video, which only took two separate takes, was also directed by Ethan Hawke.
