"Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep" was a song originally written by Lally Stott, and was spread widely by Scottish band Middle of the Road when it became a UK No. 1 chart hit in 1971. The song also rode the tide of bubblegum pop, which was popular in the late 60s/early 70s.
