KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 (Bernama) -- Next Bike Sdn Bhd, part of the Naza group of companies, expects to sell 50 units of the latest Ducati Hypermotard by year-end, the group’s managing director Tan Sri Nasimuddin S.M. Amin said today.

Next Bike, the franchise holder of the Ducati superbikes in Malaysia, today unveiled the RM98,000 superbike which combined "motard" styling and Ducati’s "sportbike" technology.

The company has already sold 400 units of Ducati superbikes while the waiting period has increased from one to two years due to high demand, Nasimuddin told reporters after the launch here.

He said the Ducati range contributed about 10 percent of the group’s revenue.

"The Hypermotard 1100 is extremely thrilling to ride every day of the week. It turns familiar roads into an all-new heart-thumping experience," Nasimuddin said.

He said the superbike was capable of exceeding 125 miles per hour (mph) on the race track and has fuel injection.

"With a riding position that ensures total control, the exceptionally slim and incredibly light superbike is ready to dominate every inch of asphalt with big-bore acceleration and road holding that redefines street experience," he added.
