當我覺得一個人的說法沒辦法說服我的時候，
我一定會尋求 second opinion（其他意見）


因為我實在很討厭英文寫作的規則
所以每逢老外便問「為什麼要這樣規定？」
我得到一些有趣的答案：

老外甲說，因為西方老師改作文的時候並不是逐字逐句地看，
而是看第一段和最後一段，中間的 body 也是跳著看你有沒有離題
所以循著寫作規則寫出來的文章容易抓到重點，方便批改


老外乙補充說明，
其實現在美國也有另一派人對這種寫作規則持反對意見的，
真是和我心靈相通的好手足（my soul sisters and brothers）


其實這種英文寫作規則只能套在論文寫作上，如果《Sex and the City》也套用這種模式來寫，現在應該還存在作者的硬碟裡等著被格式化吧。


本來就已經很不爽英文寫作規定的我，老師定的第一篇作文題目竟然是「運動」！所以我寫了如下的短文。以為學生一定會捧他的 LP，大大頌揚運動的好處的老師，看到這篇文章下巴就脫臼了……

Sports Suck!（我討厭運動！）

I don’t fancy sports, and it’s a conclusion I made after meticulous consideration.（仔細的思考）

First of all, sports are frequently used as a strategy（策略） to shape up your body. Therefore, when you walk into an aerobic studio,（有氧健身中心） very often that you will find the place is packed with plump, aged women. Participating in an aerobic membership is equally admitting that I am old and fat. Why on earth should I confess（承認） that?

Secondly, most sports involve outdoor activities. Do you know that we are living in an era of, “ A light complexion beats three flaws on your body”（「一白遮三醜」的年代）? You have no idea how much the skin-whitening products have cost me. For me, getting a tan is parallel with tossing my money in the bin（垃圾桶）!

Finally and the most importantly; “Hello!” Have you noticed how sluttish（浪蕩） the sports wear can be? The ladies get to dress in the shortest mini skirts on tennis courts, not to mention those bikinis that can barely cover anything! I hate to expose（曝露） my figure（身材） in that way!

In a nutshell（一言以蔽之）, sports do me no good. I will try my best to stay away from sports as long as I can.
