A 26-year-old woman serving time in a Brazilian prison for holding up trucks has been named her penitentiary’s beauty queen in a competition between convicts, authorities said.

因為攔路搶劫卡車而在巴西監獄服刑的一名26歲女孩，在囚犯競爭中脫穎而出，當選該間監獄的選美皇后，當局說。

Brunette Dione Normando Pires was named "Miss Talavera Bruce" in the Gericino women’s prison in western Rio de Janeiro , beating off competition from eight other convicts.

布魯內特．狄翁．諾曼多．皮瑞絲，榮膺位於里約熱內盧西部的傑瑞西諾市女子監獄的「塔拉維拉布 魯斯 小姐」，擊敗另外八名囚犯。

"Today I don’t feel like prisoner. This is the happiest moment of my life," Pires said as she accepted the red winner’s sash, which she put over her pink dress.

「今天，我不覺得自己像囚犯。這是我畢生中最快樂的時刻，」皮瑞絲在接受象徵奪冠的紅色肩帶時說。她把紅色肩帶掛在自己的粉紅色衣服上。

Runners-up were two drug traffickers, aged 20 and 24.

屈居其後的是兩名毒品走私犯，年齡分別是20歲與24歲。

The beauty contest was put on by 17 inmates of the prison. If not for poor-quality tattoos on the ankles of some contestants, lack of air conditioning and the presence of uniformed female guards around the doors, it would seem like a normal beauty pageant.

這次的選美比賽由監獄內的17名囚犯演出。如果不計較若干參賽者腳踝的劣質刺青，缺乏空調及穿制服的女獄警出現在門口，這看起來頗像是正常的選美大會。
