A turkey has been spared ending up on the dinner plate this Christmas - as he’s too ugly.

一隻火雞今年躲過被當成桌上的耶誕大餐吃掉，因為牠太醜了。

Wilbur is underweight, has no tail feathers, a misshapen body and walks with a limp.

「威伯」體重太輕、尾巴沒有毛、身材走樣，走路還一拐一拐的。

He’s the only bird remaining at the pick-your-own turkey farm in Devon.Farm owner Peter Hayford said： "This was his first Christmas and it was meant to be his last. But no one chose him because of his appearance.

牠是戴文郡這家任你挑火雞養殖場中唯一一隻倖存的火雞。

農場老闆彼得．海福說：「這是牠的第一個耶誕節，原本也應該是最後一個。但是沒有人要牠，因為牠的長相。」

"Everyone said Wilbur looked too sad and bedraggled and the others were upbeat.

「每個人都說威伯看起來太慘了、髒髒的，其他的火雞則精神抖擻。」

"He’s also a little underweight and is a bit misshapen, so maybe that’s why." Peter added："One thing’s for sure - he’s the luckiest little bird in the world.

「牠體重也有點過輕，身材有點走樣，也許這就是原因。」彼得補充說：「有一件事是確定的，牠是全世界最幸運的鳥。」

Peter said he and his wife Jackie plan to keep him as a pet."Wilbur will become one of the family. He might be an ugly old thing, but we think he’s lovely."

彼得說，他和太太賈姬打算把威伯當寵物養。「牠也許是個醜陋的老東西，但是我們覺得牠很可愛。」
