Blocking my shawl....

Just finished knitting this triangular shawl. I love it.
However, before blocking, it looks like this, it curls up and doesn’t lay flat. So, we have to do blocking so that it stays ’flat’.

I have to put the shawl into lukewarm water (with some soap, I used Baby’s bathing gel). Soaking time is about 20 minutes, and then rinse it with clear water (again , lukewarm).

Then squeeze out the excess water by putting the shawl on a dry towel, and then roll it and squeeze the water out.

Then, place the shawl on a clean blocking area, and starts to pin it.
IT’s really fun to block this piece. I love how it looks like, especially the pointed edge of the shawl.

I have to let it air dry, and I can use it afterwards.

Pattern: from the book Wrap Style, Shetland Triangle.
Yarn: Japanese yarn - Olympus Merino , pink, only need 2 balls!!
needles: 4mm.

I love this, and I only used 6 days to finish this off.
It’s fast and easy!
I am going to make another for my friend Angel, this time, I am going to use Handmaiden Sea Silk. This silk yarn is perfect for this shawl, because it’s shiny and silky - looks really elegant and luxury!!
