C1 My metamorphosis
If you ask me that “Who you are”? It’s really indescribable. You might ask me what’s your name, what’s your job, and what are you proud of in your life? Ok, let me introduce myself to you and explain why I joined Toastmaster Club.
I was born in Taichung City, and was from a common family, average size. I had two siblings, my younger sister and younger brother. Like many traditional families, parents attach importance to the education of children’s. After going through several struggles for the education system of Taiwan, I graduated from college in 2003, and my major is “nursing”, It’s not my favorite, of course not, I like to keep in touch with people. Music is my favorite indeed.
I heard about Toastmaster Club when I was a student, I was introvert, I didn’t know how to express my feelings, and I always keep silence in daily life. After graduating from college, I work for a dental clinic, and the coworkers show me ALE Magazines, and I found Toastmaster is one part of the ALE Club, so I joined them immediately. Less than half year, I was chosen to be the VPE, at the same time I studied for the exam of the license of nurse. (I’m nothing besides Toastmaster, I thought then.) And somebody said “Out of your comfort Zone”, I left my hometown (Taichung) after I got the license and I moved to Hua-lien. In the beginning, I thought it shouldn’t be hard to join the meeting regularly. Nobody knows, I almost can’t be back. I was alone, and my duty is to take care of others (those p’ts), cuz the shortage of the workers, the ratio of patients and nurses is 20~25:1 in wards, 3~6:1 in ICU, and 90(35 dementia elders, and 55 male and female p’ts):1 in Psy Dep. I had no strength to take a break, especially in holidays..cuz the staff all declare a holiday. I know that is not normality. So I decide back home in 2007. After several months rest, I decided go to the most populous, the east district of Taipei, an abnormal hospital, either. There are hundreds of Dr let you choose, like a department store, you could choose the Dr. you like. Some patients said, in this location. To live in the hospital is much cheaper than to live in the hotel, and there are so many beautiful nurses to care for them.
