青年席德的藝術主張

這兩週都在教馬羅版的《浮士德》，今天甚至偷懶放了一部改編自歌德和馬羅兩版的捷克電影《浮士德》當做比較教材(導演：Jan Svankmajer)，因為拍得非常震撼，滿腦子的「入魔者」，於是，就想起席德小時候的藝術主張來了。

民國七十四年，也就是一九八五年，席德二十三歲的時候，有一天他讀了一份萬胥亭評點段彩華小說的剪報，載欣載喜，就寫了一封信。這種情緒我們都懂！就是孫悟空聽完師父講道，喜得抓耳撓腮的模樣。的確，讀完好書之後，滿胸臆幾欲爆出的情緒，必得要借兩隻耳朵來幫忙接收。（席德的謙虛措辭是：「能容我大言的耳殼。」）

像往常一樣，Yvette 也沒把它定義為一封私信，而是一種藝術主張。瞧瞧他這麼寫著：

歌德、但丁、焦易士到底是不是一群瘋子，我總認為《浮士德》發黃的稿紙上印烙著一個入魔者的靈魂。歌德他們活著，一直是讓內心恣肆張狂的人欲豢養著罷了。在道德的規範以及一切如是說、如是說的戒律之下，如果他們不曾「懦弱」地讓 libido 反客為主，或許人類至今一直未能瞭解人性是如何的神秘深邃。

對我而言，藝術的效果在孤立靈魂，因此在類似鬼魅靜謐的同時，靈魂變得深邃犀利，乃膽敢睥視軀殼的桎梏，反而恣情地利用神經的尖戟，去探索作品的本質。

I will try writing something on Kafka before we meet. After all, I visited Prague solely because of Kafka. I gave a speech in the Speech and Debate class on Kafka, and.... so much about Kafka. Honestly, I agreed to teach &quotExistentialism and Literature&quot in NTUA because I could have the chance to introduce him to these young generation. There is something called &quotpurity&quot or even &quotpurification&quot in reading his honest works.

Thank you for your good wish! I did have a wonderful sleep, with a lot of queer and stupid dreams which made me laugh, as usual. I am going to ride my bike today in order to change the mood.

You really have a lot of responsibilities to shoulder. Hope everything goes well as soon as possible.

Please do send us your dad`s works. I bet he had very different life stories to tell. After all, that is the &quotgift&quot of his time. Hardship deepened his life.
