Teddy Organised Day at SF City

Without knowing where and what exactly we are going to go and do before hand today, I was anxiously looking forward to Teddy's organised whole day trip in SF city.  According to Teddy, locals often refer to the city of San Francisco either as "the city" or "Frisco".

The drive to town was quite smooth. Once again, it was a lovely sunny day with warm sunshine cuddling us.  We passed by the city of Oakland from Fremont and took the Bay Bridge on the way to "the city".  The Bay Bridge connects the city of Oakland to San Francisco, with traffic going to San Francisco on the upper deck and the opposite direction in the lower deck.  In the 1989, in the Loma Prieta Earthquake, one section of the upper deck actually "collapsed" onto the lower deck.  It was last big earthquake in the Bay Area.  Teddy told me that his school was actually closed for 2 days due to the event.

As soon as we arrived in town, we went to the most popular gay/lesbian place, the Castro district, to meet up with Jennifer (someone random we met online) to get our ticket for the opera tonight. There I learned something new. There are lots of rainbow flags on the street. Teddy told me, that is a sign saying gays/lesbians are welcome.
After lunch, Teddy told me that we are going to get a ticket to the Alcatraz Island, but the tickets for the day were all sold out.  (Teddy is terribly sorry about the planning of this:-( ) Instead, we took a walk at the Fisherman’s Wharf and took some photos.
There I tasted my first pretzel which is hearted shape donut looking bread. I tried the plain one with salt, it’s a bit too salty and hard for me; but according to teddy, some of them are actually quite tasty.

On the walk at the Wharf, Pier 39 caught my eyes. There were lots of colourful shops around; it brought my memory back to the shops at Tokyo Disneyland. We walked around Pier 39 and took a gold sketch of us. Unfortunately there was too much reflection from the gold when I tried to take a photo of it, so I cannot post it here.

Our second destination is the famous Golden Gate Bridge.
Last time when I was in town with Kirsti, we did not walk right up to the bridge, so this time, Teddy drove me there. Although the sun was not too bright, but the we could see the viewsvery clearly.  We quickly found a parking space on observetory area onthe side of bridge.  Although the spot was an easy find, according theTeddy, he has never been able to find a parking space that easily inthis area.  Once again, I proved to Teddy, that I am a lucky charm justlike what I have been told (shy * shy)

We took a walk on the bridge and took quite a few photos as well.
However, the wind on the bridge’s too strong and there were too many cars driven pass which blow the polluted air right onto my face, I decided to only take a short walk and hurry to our next destination,  Japan Town (Tokyo Centre). On the way there, we passed the famous Lombard Street and took a few photos here. One from the top down

One from the bottom up

The Tokyo Centre, as the name shown, is a shopping centre full of Japanese related stores. We visited one particular Mall and bought Tokyo Banana (a kind of dessert that I really like when I first tried it in Japan), a set of tea pot, some groceries and a box of salmon roe sushi. We ate the sushi straight away, it was very delicious. Yet, we did not have much luck in terms of picking the right place for dinner. We carefully picked a ‘suppose to be’ very famous ramen place which turned out to be owned and cooked by Cantonese. The ramen, I am sorry to say, does not taste as good as the ramen I had in Japan. (Teddy apologizes for this and he promised he would take me that other "supposedly" good ramen noodle place next time.

After dinner, Teddy and I change into our "nightly out" clothes and drove to San Francisco War Memorial Opera House.  There, we watched the opera of the night, ‘The Bonesetters Daughter’. Since beginning of the month, Teddy has been trying hard to get the tickest for us to go for the night. For being the sweetest Teddy, he would not be satisfied with a normal general ticket, even though it was extremely difficult to get a ticket since the tickets were all long gone; he still managed to get us two DRESS CIRCLE tickets to the opera.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I really had a great day and will miss this day a lot a lot a lot a lot x 100.

(From Teddy: That was a great day for me as well and I am glad that honey enjoyed the day as much as I did)
