In Chiefland, FL, we asked Richardfor permission to use his yard as our camping ground for a night. Richard upgraded our bedroom from a tent to a room equipped with AC and arestroom.

  


 We played a chess game beforedinner. Guess who won?

 Me! I believed he lost the chess game to me on purpose.A tough ex-Marine surely would have defeated a cyclist.

 

Richard asked me what my occupationwas. After I told him that I was a writer, he jokingly said not to forget tomention him in the book; however, it would be a long while before I can have mybook - biking around the world with my sweetheart - published, so I put his picturesin my blog for him to see him in the article and also to show our gratefulness.
