在加拿大看眼科，最主要的感覺就是：等、等、等...繼續等、等、等...接著又等、等、等...跟著還要等、等、等...
首先是請家庭醫生轉介，預約專業眼科醫師。專科醫生很難約，最早能見到醫師的時間已排到半年多之後。
總算熬到約定時刻，向櫃台小姐報到，依她的指示，前往候診區坐著等（診所內共分 1～3 號三個等候區域)。
不是一去就能直接見到醫生，也不是每次都能看到醫生。先要經過助理做檢查，不同的房間有不同的儀器，各有操作人員，所以須輾轉於三個區域。等候檢查大約要坐上一個多小時，而若是能夠看到醫生的話，花兩個多小時坐著等待是至少必須的時間。
等候手術排期又需四個月或更長，排到時間後眼科診所會來電話通知，又要再去做一次檢查，然後才能約見眼科醫生做術前解説。
沒有耐心是不行的，等吧，繼續地等！
