Hi team,
Thank you for all the effort you have placed into the NUS Essay Competition.
Although we do not have luxury to work on the essays right till before 4th July, the official dateline, though we have to put in extra effort to do so much more on top of our studies, revision, and workload, you all pulled through.
On saturday, Ms Wong and the 4 of you (yes, i do not need to mention names) came back and work so hard to edit and finetune the essays into competitive mode. It is amazing we braved hunger, scoldings from parents, stress, pressure etc, to pull through.
To me, as a mentor and friend to all of you, integrity and teamwork is extremely important to me.
You have to stand by your teammates no matter what, win, lose, win honours, lose face etc.
I feel that you have all surpassed the expectations of what i demanded. I am very proud of the extra hours you put in for the team

THank you Lina, for pushing yourself through the essays right into the middle of the night, and sacrificing sleep.
I am sure many of you have made sacrifices for yourself and the team in many ways, that I do not know..
The competition means a lot to all of you even though the prize money is meagre.
To me, the spirit of the team is the most important. When we are together, we can conquer all fatigue, stress, pressure, hardship, and in my eyes, you all are already champions in these aspects.
I am sad to see Lina and Maureen move on to other schools, hence, this competition is the last one we can fight as a team.
Still I am proud of you both and I wish you the very best in your endeavours.
Have a great summer, recharge your batteries.
Ms Wong will be in Singapore from July, but she will be missed by you all. She is a dedicated and unassuming teacher who will teach you more than just knowledge. I am sure all of you have benefitted from this close friend and colleague of mine.
I hope we all make it to the final round, and we can meet up with her in Singapore when we win again!
If i had been angry with you, shown you temper, given you pressure, ignored your pleas to help you more, push you to beyond your imagination, made you lose sleep and let you have less time to hug your teddy in your sleep, I seek your forgiveness.
I have to do what I have to do because I care and I expect a lot more from you. On one hand, I know you can do it, I also do not want you to be complacent and do lesser or support your teammates lesser.
I have to wield the sword because Ms Wong is too nice to do so. In the right team, there will be a devil and there will be an angel. No guesses who I am, but in the end, ultimately, I did it because I care.
To see you all blossom after rounds and rounds of drilling and procedures gives me and Ms Wong much joy and comfort. To us, your effort already made our work worth it.
