各位都知道我有多麼喜歡謝爾叔叔的搞怪詩對不對？

還記得我常常用 Shel Siverstein 的 "Nobody loves me" 來作弄學生的事嗎？我每次都會在作弄完畢之後說：「聽說有ㄧ位翻譯者把 Nobody 翻成 『梅友仁』，真是絕透了.....

梅友仁摘水蜜桃和梨子給我吃

梅友仁拿糖果和可樂請我喝......」

 

下學期我們系要找口譯課的老師，日文系的林桑介紹了魏老師。光是通信三封就知道她一定是個超級幽默又能力特強的老師。

前天我們約吃中餐，三個女人在【摩斯漢堡】大聲談笑，差一點把人家的牆震掉！整個聊天過程我的嘴巴都合不起來：魏老師的資歷真的太完整了！好高興我運氣這麼好，可以幫我們今年的大四找到這麼棒的老師，連我都想去修課了！(明年一定要加上【同步口譯】的開課計畫！或是我去跟學校申請 【翻譯龍】，或是和口傳系ㄧ起申請 Toastmaster！) 魏老師還沒開始來上課，已經寄了好多好多免費的演講資訊給我們學生，我立刻報名了其中的ㄧ天：7/17 王文華主持，在台大醫院的【遠見】講壇。她平常還會帶學生去參加許多逐步口譯的活動。超感動的！

聊完天又回到系上。我請她再傳一份新 CV 給系上存檔。我翻了這七頁履歷，知道她除了在英國 BBC (翻譯)、美國微軟 (視窗 3.1 中文開發 assistant manager) 和台灣中央電台工作 (記者)，另外七個大企業也都是嚇嚇叫的大企業！最重要的是，她曾經翻譯過的ㄧ本書叫做《閣樓上的光》！啊~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

我當然立刻去信：

So, you are the one who translated Shel Silverstein's "Nobody" into "梅友仁"?
Wow!  I have been teaching Shel's works for twenty years, and my students
teamed up two Shel Silverstein Study Groups in both universities I teach.
