In the past years, some organizations established by churches either did not manage well or they did not keep up the steps of the environmental changes. They were forced to close. The church members used to say: “God’s decree wants to have a rest!”
Is that true?
A few yeas ago, Taitung St. Mary’s Hospital faced the crisis of being closed. I heard the similar words. However, when most people were ready to give up, I did find some other “people” show up. They tried their best to help St. Mary’s Hospital turn for better. They even had better chances. “People” play an important role in the success or failure of an organization. “God is love.” God shows its love by
means of “people” and “the work of people.” The successful transference of St. Mary’s Hospital has set a good example for the parish. People should not push out the responsibility and put it on the shoulders of God. They should take up the responsibility and do their best to practice God’s love. As for the result, that is God’s decree!
Sister Teresa said: “God writes letters to people. And I am the pen in His hand.”
When I got acquainted with Sense, I have found he is the pen in God’s hand.” Though he is a Buddhist, he has written a series of stories that have happened in St. Mary’s Hospital. He has distributed the love of God to everybody who has love in their minds by way of his blog. (http://blog.pchome.com.tw/0701023)
The book Taiwan Lambaréné consists of the articles printed in his blog. We can found God’s decree “Love God and love people; respect life; serve the poor” is executed in St. Mary’s Hospital. And we also see the hospital has gone through continuous changes and non-stop progress. There are joys, miseries, simple love and grand prospect in the hospital. The book ends with “A Summon for 3000 Loves, Leave Taiwan a Medical Model hospital!” I still remember during the eight days of raising foundation, people all over Taiwan started a movement to save Taitung St. Mary’s Hospital! I did see not only “God’s love” but also the most beautiful “hope” of humanity. I am convinced when you read the book Taiwan Lambaréné, you will feel the same “love and hope.”
