今天我只想讀詩
於是拋開那酷暑、悶熱、渾身黏膩膩
美國詩人惠特曼(Walt Whitman,1819-1892)說過:
只要一個人自己是完整的，這個世界對他而言就是完整的；任何領域中的不尋
常事物，並不會比平常的事物更加高雅或美麗；我們真正缺少的，並不是我們
應該擁有什麼現在沒有的東西，而是我們應該張開眼睛去看、打開內心去感覺
自己所擁有的一切。惠特曼的這些觀點與多數人的名和利多麼的不同。

We two,how long we were fooled.
Now transmuted, we swiftly escape as Nature escapes,
We are Nature,long have we been absent, but now we return,
We become plants, trunks, foliage, roots,bark,
We are bedded in the ground, we are rocks,
We are oaks, we grow in the openings, side by side,
We browse, we are two among the wild herds, spontaneous as any,
We are two fishes swimming in the sea together,
We are what locust blossoms are, we drop scent around lanes mornings
and evenings,
We are also the coarse smut of beasts, vegetables, minerals,
We are two predatory hawks, we soar above and look down,
We are two resplendent suns, we it is who balance ourselves orbit
and stellar, we are two comets,
We prowl fang’d and four-footed in the woods, we spring on prey,
We aretwo clouds forenoons and afternoons driving overhead,
We are seas mingling, we are two of those cheerful waves rolling
over each other and interwetting each other,
We are what the atmosphere is, transparent, receptive, pervious,
impervious,
We are snow, rain , cold, darkness, we are each product and
influence of the globe,
We have circled and circled till we have arrived home again, we two,
We have voided all but freedom and all but our own joy.

我們變成了自然 睽違許久現在又折返
我們變成了植物、樹根、樹葉、樹皮、樹幹
我倆枕在地上 我們就是岩石
我們是橡樹 並著肩在曠野中成長
我倆在這寬廣的牧群之間自然而優美的吃草
我們是結伴遨遊在大海裡的兩條魚
我們是洋槐 在清晨和黃昏的巷弄散播著芬芳
我們也像動物、植物、礦物的污漬一樣粗糙
我們是掠食的兩隻禿鷹 在天空盤旋虎視眈眈
我們是兩顆閃爍的恆星 對稱在軌道上旋轉如慧星一般
我們潛伏在森林裏 張牙舞爪撲向獵物
我們是天上的白雲 從早晨飄盪到黃昏
我們是交會的大海 我們是相互包容的海浪快活地翻騰
我們是大氣層 明淨包容一切 能被穿透卻不為所動
我們是雪花、雨水、寒冷、幽暗 我們是這星球之子
我們不停地迴旋直到返回家中 而你和我在一起
我們讓一切煙消雲散 只留下自由和欣喜
