老實說，James Morrison的處女大碟【Undiscovered】至少有五首歌有主打單曲的潛力 – 「You Give Me Something」、「Wonderful World」、「The Pieces Don't Fit Anymore」、「Undiscovered」跟「One Last Chance」。這些歌曲不但寫得好，在James Morrison那滄桑的藍調聲線詮釋下，更是釋放出與眾不同的魅力，絕不浮濫、不流俗、不是無病呻吟，更重要的是，很多人都愛。

【Undiscovered】在英國金榜拿下冠軍、在美國告示牌攻佔前20名，並為James Morrison贏得全英音樂獎最佳男歌手獎（同時也入圍了最佳單曲及最佳新人獎）。首張專輯在全球賣破三百萬張，James Morrison也成為了2006年最賣座的英國男歌手。雖然當時他才滿21歲，但他成長之路給了他豐富的人生歷練，轉化成他那靈魂歌聲中的獨有情緒。跟一般人比起來，破碎的家庭加上無數次的搬家，他的童年可以說是顛沛流離，雖然他自己笑說這沒什麼，但同時他也不否認，在詮釋歌曲時的情緒，大多來自他的成長經歷。
