The aftermaths of the presidential election held on Mar 20 along with the referendum triggered dozens of problems that are unprecedented ever in the history. People seem to be addicted to the spell of politics and go astray from their normal lives. Everyday when turning on the TV and watching the news whatever about Taiwan, I figure out that the issues concernd are all about the recount of the ballots being examined in a transparent and open process submitted by the KMT-PFP alliance as well as the vindication for the suspicious points of the assassination attempt to the incumbent president Chen Shui-bian and vice president Annette Lu. Even at school, it's a hot issue that argued between the pro-green and the pro-blue. In this democratic society, each individual has his or her own thought,opinion and attitude toward anything in the range from major problems like politics,social affairs to minor ones such as sports and recreation. And of course everyone and express what he or she thinks! However, afetr the results of the presidential election announced by CEC (Central Election Committee) that the DPP candidates won, the leader of KMT (Chinese Nationalist Party) Lien Chan and PFP(People First Party) chairman James Soong urged people in front of the Presidential Office to be rational at first, but then to denounced that the election was unfair and should be annulled on the ground of lots of suspicions, which provoke the supporters to sit-in for demonstration irrationally. To be neutral and not to stand for either DPP or KMT-PFP alliance, I consider that both sides have something to clarify in order not to damage Taiwan's international image incessantly.First,in addition not to urging people in attempt to influence the recount and the traffic,instead the pan-blue leaders should persuade the multitude to go home and wait for the judical procedure manipulated by the Court. Moreover,to stop the parade that will be held on Mar. 27.As we all know,the real freedom lies in not invading other's freedom. Second, for pan-green, try to substantiate the truth of the shooting as soon as possible and to negotiate with the opposition party without arrogance but modesty. On the path of democracy,I firmly believe that some conflicts are inevitable, but how to make Taiwan a more democratic and esteemed courtry relys on every citizen. I just hope the dispute will come to an end soon and expect a better new Taiwan.
