Barratts is a shoe retail specialist with inventory ranging from men's shoes
and women's shoes to bags and accessories. The ultimate boot sale at
Gwyneth's? Gwyneth Paltrow has cleared out the wardrobe and her cast-offs are
now set to be put up for sale in aid of a children's charity. According to Marie
Claire, the Hollywood star will donate the proceeds of the ultimate boots sale
to the London-based KIDS Company. It is believed that many of her designer
pieces will be put up for sale but it remains to be seen if any of her fabulous
footwear will be available to purchase. In the last year, Gwyneth has made the
headlines with a selection of skyscraper heels that reignited the fashion
world's love for not-so-sensible shoes. And in recent weeks, the actress was
spotted stepping out in a particularly striking pair. While attending the launch
party of her new TV cookery and travel show Spain ... On The Road Again, Gwyneth
dressed up her simple blazer, skirt and t-shirt combo with a pair of black, bow
piping slim stiletto heels which were encrusted with sparking diamonds.
According to the Mirror, the shoes were worth a staggering £15,000. Shoes
give inspiration to SATC writer The creator of Sex and the City has admitted
that when it came to inspiration, she often used shoes as a muse. Candace
Bushnell, who wrote the book that was later to be transformed into the hit TV
show and movie starring Sarah Jessica Parker, made the comments while promoting
her latest work One Fifth Avenue in New York. According to the Miami Herald, the
49-year-old was decked out in glamorous leopard-print heels after a year that
has seen Sex and the City The Movie storm the box office and the take-off of
Lipstick Jungle - a new show based on one of her books. When asked about her
inspiration, Ms Bushnell said: "I think the easiest way to approach it is to try
to capture the times we live in - the shoes, the clothes." However, she added
that self-esteem was the biggest issue facing women today. "There's a lot of
waxing, plucking and manicuring involved in being [female]," Ms Bushnell joked.
It was recently reported that the writer is to begin work on the Carrie Diaries,
a new work detailing the Sex and the City character's time at high
school. Celebs go low-key With high-profile weddings from UK stars such as
Coleen and Wayne Rooney in vogue at the moment, celebs on the other side of the
pond are having decidedly more low key affairs. First up is Scarlett Johansson
who, according to Glamour magazine, recently married actor Ryan Reynolds at a
secret ceremony in Vancouver in front of only their family and friends. This
came as something of a turnaround, as the actress was recently quoted as saying:
"(There's) no big plan yet. But it's a good time and we're just ... enjoying our
time to be young and engaged. I mean, I'm 23. There's no reason to rush into it.
Everything feels very natural and relaxed." Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake and
Jessica Biel are believed to be the next starry couple to take a trip up the
aisle. The pair recently enjoyed a romantic break together in Italy to attend a
friend's wedding, however, the two have been secretive about their own
relationship. Could another secret ceremony be on the cards?
