The Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver.

Fairmont is a leader in the global hospitality industry, with a distinctive collection and a worldwide reputation for excellence.

Nice deep bath tubs. But $8 for a bottle of Evian? Hmmm...

This 4-diamond hotel on prestigious West Georgia Street is Vancouver’s Castle in the City.
Harbour and Mountain Views Bright, spacious, contemporary rooms Exceptional 5 star service Health club and outdoor heated pool ~

The hotel has a beautiful aura about it. Very comfortable and leaves you feeling like you are right in a scene from The Great Gatsby.
 The Banquet Facilities are spacious.
The Hotel is a very classy place to call a home away from home.
Thankfully the hotel was so well appointed because the stay in Vancouver otherwise was not very impressive.

What a fantastic hotel and great value! The rooms were lovely, the service excellent,
the staff friendly and they even have a dog you can take for a walk!!

The pool at The Fairmont Vancouver was very refreshing and relaxing.
The service was wonderful.
Things pretty much were as they should be in that we were the guest and they took care of us.
A few minor hiccups which I believe may have since been corrected.

The elevator stopped in the lobby a few times like a foot too low, so we had to step up out of it, which was kind of odd. Also our room keys seemed to get erased easily, locking us out of our room. That may have been our fault as I guess they can be demagnetized, but it happened a few more times than normal. However these are really small things and hardly impacted our impression of the visit.

This hotel is really a first class place. The rooms were large, clean and very nicely decorated.
The hotel is also in a very convenient place.

The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is a huge ornate hotel in the Fairmont tradition. Its large lobby is full of marble, with a nice bar and two restaurants. The rooms were nice, but not spectacular, but the service was excellent. The concierge was very helpful with advice, which enabled us to see a lot of the city in a very short period. The front desk was also very helpful, giving us both an early check-in and late check-out for no extra charge.

I would recommend paying a little extra for a harbour view room.
The lobby area is quite grand and exudes the kind of elegance you expect from a "castle in the city".

This is the grand old dame of downtown Vancouver.  Sitting regally at Burrard and Georgia, it is literally next to everything and moments from the Waterfront, Coal Harbour, Robson, Alberni, Granville, Gastown and Yaletown.

The hotel has bikes to borrow, umbrellas if it's raining and even a couple of Golden Retrievers if you'd like to take them for a walk.

The hotel does have suites and a concierge level.
It also has one of the best hotel bars anywhere,  900 West.
Service is generally good although their concierce doesn't always have the best recommendations (now that I've gone from tourist to local, some of the recommendations were totally off the mark!)
Great facilities, beautiful old-world charm, amazing location.

The fairmont don't have wriless.bring ur cable line with you when u stay here.

It was great weather for handing around in downtown as well.
The Gucci and Louis Vuitton stores were attached to the lobby

The lobby bar is wonderful.
Lots and lots of comfy armchairs and sofas, crazy cocktails
(I  had a golf-themed one with gin, rosemary, and juniper spray!), and live music!
Sometimes a piano player, sometimes a piano player who sings,
or brings a singer - sometimes an actual band!
It's GREAT.  I always feel pampered here.
They don't rush you along to turn tables, either, so you can nurse your $19 buck cocktail,
relax, chat, and do some serious people-watching in comfort.

There are different tea which you can chose ..very throughful.
I couldn't find Taiwan's flag...
My freind's car...It costs $30/day and comes with unlimited in/out privileges (interestingly enough you'll also pay $30/day if you want to park your own car, although you'll still get unlimited in/out).
There two beautiful dogs stay in the Fairmont as their symbol.
Perhaps one of the neatest things about this hotel is MAVIS.
She is the hotel pet who stays in the lobby.

Two hotel dogs are available for walks and greet guests upon arrival.cool!!

She is such a sweet dog that I came ofetn by  to pet.
They will even let you take her out for walks if you get on her walking schedule!

Afternoon tea time ~Great Paino bar with live paino band.
Dog toy~It's for sale.
The rooms are well appointed and decorated in a traditional manner.
There is a comfortable bed, bedding and a least one really comfortable chair for sitting and reading. If you're a President's club member (it's free), WiFi, Adidas workout gear, gym access, bikes, daily newspaper shoeshine are all free.

There are other hotels I prefer in downtown Vancouver but this one has an amazing location and the Fairmont history.
If you like something a little more traditional, then this is your place.

Nestled between the majestic coastal mountains and the tides of the Pacific Ocean lies Vancouver,
a city that attracts travelers from around the world who are drawn to its spectacular scenery and energetic lifestyle.

At the very heart is Vancouver's landmark,
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
Like the city that surrounds it, the hotel is rich in history,
resplendent in natural beauty, vibrant and cosmopolitan.
Within its walls you will find the luxurious Absolute Spa,
an exclusive Fairmont Gold floor, a state-of-the-art health club,
award-winning restaurants and an array of designer shops in downtown Vancouver.

Some of Canada's most unique features are the majestic railway hotels that were built across the country by the Canadian Pacific and the Canadian National Railways.

For their time, these hotels were miracles of construction and engineering.
Everything that went into them was the biggest and best of their time and they
have become very much a part of Canada's national heritage and identity.
This is the third hotel to be named 'Hotel Vancouver'.
The first was a five-story, brick structure that looked and functioned much like a farmhouse.

The second, built from 1912-1916, and opened in 1916,
became the meeting place for Vancouver society.

The second Hotel Vancouver was turned into a government administration building during World War II and torn down in 1949.

Canada's present Hotel Vancouver took 11 years to build because construction was halted for five years during the Great Depression.

It was started by the Canadian National Railway but was finally completed under a joint operating agreement with the Canadian Pacific Railway.
Hotel Vancouver in British Columbia was opened in May of 1939,
in time for the Royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth at a final cost of $12 million.

A $70 million restoration in the mid 1990s has ensured that
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver remains at the very forefront of Vancouver's best hotels.

The rooms are spacious and very clean.
The beds feature want-to-loll-all-day linens and heavenly mattresses.
They lay out all that 5-star hotel schwag - menus, coasters, a guide to the hotel, etc.

Weirdly, the mini-bar isn't more expensive than any other mini-bar we've experienced in a Vancouver hotel. Which is to say - pricey, but no more than elsewhere.
Best location for shopping in downtown.

The hotel hosts the on-site Absolute Spa, private concierge service, renovated guestrooms
and health club, designer shops, daily afternoon tea, and one award winning restaurant.
High speed internet charge for $15.62 per day.
Ready for breakfast at Griffins restaurant in the Fairmont.
four statrs sevrice for sure.
Enjoy the great time  in the Fairmont. It's an extraordinary experience.

The Hotel Vancouver, run by Fairmont, is one of the most posh hotels in the downtown core.
The annual UBC engineering ball always was held here, and it was a great event.

Opinion of Price: most expensive
