Residents of big cities like New York and London must accept that they are under constant watch by video cameras, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday.

"In this day and age, if you think that cameras aren’t watching you all the time, you are very naive,"

We live in a dangerous world, and people want to have security cameras."

London has one of the world’s highest concentrations of surveillance cameras. An estimated 4 million CCTV cameras operate in Britain, and some civil liberties campaigners have warned the country is becoming a "surveillance state."

After reading the news report, the first words jumping into my mind are “the value of privacy.” When you in the condition of being watched everywhere, anytime, how much privacy do you left? I know, it’s a big question that could always confront opposite opinions. Ironically, on one hand, I don’t want too much eyes staring at me; on the other hand, I am lack of a sense of security from the society I live. To get a balance point, I confer myself that I won’t be embarrassed by receiving a picture of violating traffic rule taken by a secret camera. I may feel good about the news that a great secret camera successfully catching criminal activity. The good thing is the camera is designed for protection purpose.
