Carly Rae Jepsen's infectious single "Call Me Maybe" dethroned Gotye and Kimbra's "Somebody That I Used To Know" on Hot 100 this week. "Call Me Maybe", one of NPR Music's 50 favorite songs of 2012 so far, was first popularized by Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and others in their lip synching video. The song gained more attention after CRJ and Bieber appeared on Ellen. Since then, more lip synching/dancing videos had been posted on YouTube (including one by Katy Perry and her friends) while the song gradually ascended the chart.
