"Candy" is the debut single by American pop singer Mandy Moore, one of the pop princesses who made the scene in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Though the song met with mostly negative reviews from critics, it performed fairly well in UK and Australia. "Candy" is marked as a standard example of a bubblegum pop song.
Mandy Moore evolved into a multifaceted artist in the 2000s. Most recently, Moore voiced Rapunzel in the film Tangled, the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. The theme song "I See The Light", performed by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, is nominated for Best Original Song at the 83rd Academy Awards.
